Yeah, "Case Départ". It was a huge success. I haven't watched it and I don't want to. How much self-hatred do you have to make a movie making fun of slavery. Seriously. And this movie will probably be very successful too because there is something very reassuring about Black people and/or Maghrebis making racist jokes about themselves. Because coming from them, it makes the racism even more acceptable and white French people and medias can go and watch and praise such movies without feeling any obligation to put themselves and their racism into question.

I asked my teacher to recommend some newspapers to read so I could improve my French and she suggested Courrier international and Charlie Hebdo : Alexia was surprised when I came home with them

Well, if my memories serve me right, I'm pretty sure Courrier International was a much better newspapers few years ago. I came across it when I was in high-school and I found it amazing, especially bcz it tended to post various point of views you could conflate with each other. But lately, I'm really questioning their articles selection. :/ 

What kind of teacher recommend Charlie Hebdo though lmao.

yes that's where i got mine! they take a while to reply when you email them, but they eventually did get back to me. i think the keffiyehs take 2-3 weeks to arrive once you make the payment.
