Did you know we moved to a new space?

Due to building code restrictions, we had to move our old space, but luckily the city was able to provide us with a different space just across our court yard. It's a bit smaller but we've had some time to figure things out, do some decluttering, and build some nice new features.

On Jan 5th, 2019 our member Paul held a great KiCad beginner workshop. It consisted of building a simple electronic circuit on a breadboard and then learning the steps to design the circuit and PCB in KiCad. The resulting PCBs were uploaded to JLCPCB where they were manufactured and sent to the lab. (All participants who submitted their files: your PCBs are ready, please pick them up)

Because of high demand we will repeat the workshop on Feb 23rd, 2019 - a pre-registration is necessary. Please contact [email protected], Paul or German for details.

Join our awesome intro courses! 

We are currently offering intro courses for the woodworkshop and our 3D printers. They are free and great to get started with your project at Munich Maker Lab. Currently we are offering each of the courses once a month.

Another Week, another Workshop! Paul held the third KiCad workshop last weekend, teaching participants how to design their own schematics and PCBs using KiCad. Those designs were uploaded to JLCPCB and will arrive in a few weeks. 

Last week the BR visited our lab again, after a occurrence in the Make Munich 2019 preparation video. They talked to a few members, including Bennet and Paul who are working on a startup called “Fontus Lab”, interviewed David to figure out what the Munich Maker Lab is all about and took a look at a few other projects. We do not know when the material will be screened, but we will release the information as soon as we figured out.

PCB-Design in KiCad - 23 March 2019 (German)

An update on our laser and other fun stuff we did last week: 

Our laser has been calibrated once again and we have added a switch for the pilot laser - that means you can now enable a visible laser to see where the real laser is aiming. The laser is in working condition, so come by for our public meetup (every Thursday, 6:30 pm) and bring your laser projects with you. 

Quick project by Peter - the bristle bot mothership! Featuring a relay to power the engine on and off, as well as a WS2812B connected to a Wemos D1 mini. 

Also check out Peter’s Bus “Die Tüftelei”, currently located at the “Märchenbazar”, where you can attend DIY workshops until December 29, 2018. And if you’re already there, stop by at the Munich Maker Lab which is just around the corner.
