Danganronpa!Verse: Burns tell stories
Eri - Ink (female) Yume - Dream (male) Kenshi - Blue (male)
The story behind Eri's burned hands.
Eri sighs as she works on her sculpture. She tries to find comfort in the details of glazing. She loves the glazing part, a different type of art other than sculpting. The ultimate artist, she hates her title. The amount of backlash she's gotten from it, she hates it. Of course, she'll never be as great as the past ultimate artist, but this is who she is.
She finds it better to have people think she's only good at sculpting. She smiles as she touches up the eyes. So blue, cool like a dip in the pool in summer. Brown like chocolate, she stops herself from blushing. Kenshi has been so kind to her, it makes her heart beat weirdly, and so does Yume. She feels so lucky to have them, despite these circumstances and Yume's emotional outbursts. No one has ever been so kind to her.
She switches out the brushes to get her fine tip paint brush, she licks her lips before placing the tip between them. Getting the finest point she can. She looks around to find her ivory black and clear glazes. Eri gets out of her chair before wandering over to her kiln, she glances inside to make sure everything is out.
She smiles before pulling out her smaller sculptures of planets and molecules. They're glossy and finished. She's planning on giving them to her new friends: Toshiro and Sora. She places them on the table before looking at her smaller dragon. She goes to grab it before grunting in anger.
"Goddammit, there must've been glazed on the bottom!"
She growls, Eri should've known better than to let Yume paint it. That was hours of work lost if she can't get it unstuck. Her anger dies down, she couldn't say no to his puppy eyes. She sighs before starting to heat her kiln. If there's a chance she can get it unstuck, she'll risk the sculpture exploding... Again. She closes the kiln before moving to grab her glazes again. She pours them into small bowls before moving back to her station for glazing. She smiles as she moves back to her seat, her brush now full of the clear glaze as she goes over the armor in specific areas to give it a special shine as if it was just buffed that day.
She's about to add some clear glaze to the ruby on his sword when the doors to her studio slam open. She yelps as her brush flies from her hand and lands on the floor, ruining the point. She growls and quietly swears under her breath as she picks it up. A loud cry grabs her attention from the brush and she looks at the door as she places her brush in the cup of water to wash the dirt off of it.
"Yume? What are you doing here?"
Yume huffs with tears in his eyes as he puffs his cheeks out in anger. He slams her doors shut before shouting in anger. She flinches before calming herself to have a steady hand. She looks up and blinks at him a few times. He stares back at her from where he stands. He stares at her, how beautiful she looks, looking up at him through her lashes. The slight nervous expression on her face. It almost dispels his anger immediately. He glares for a moment.
"How could you?!" She flinches from his tone. He sits at her table as she tries to focus on her art. "You're cheating on me?!"
She arches a brow. They aren't dating. No one has ever loved her before. She dips her now-dried brush into the clear glaze once more. "Cheating? Yume, we're not dating. And who would I cheat with? As far as I know, I haven't even kissed anyone before." She murmurs her confession with a pang of bitterness. A great reminder that she'll die before she even falls in love with her prince (or princess, she's not picky).
Yume growls. "How could you ever say that?! You're mine, Eri! You're Kenshi's and mine! You should know this by now! How could you?! You're hurting me, Eri!" Tears roll down his cheeks as his words slur together into sobs.
She pauses and looks in his direction. She sets her brush down before taking his hands into hers. "I-I'm sorry Yume. I didn't mean to hurt you. It's just that I didn't know that you two liked me like that. You never said anything. I just thought you wanted to be friends. I didn't know." She pauses, looking off to the side. Yume calling her 'his' rubbed her the wrong way. It sounded like he was calling her property. She decides not to mention it. "If you two wanted to date me, then you should've asked." Yume looks at her, tears suddenly stopped. "No one communicated that to me."
Yume growls. "You should've known! You're ours! So why did you cheat on us?! Are we not enough?! Huh? Is that it?" He pushes into her space. "Why do you hang out and cheat on us with those other two?!"
She arches a brow. "Who are you talking about?"
"The space and science idiots!"
She pauses. Eri thought that cheating was having sex with another person outside of a relationship. She never thought that hanging out with other people was cheating. Not to mention that she didn't know that she was in a relationship in the first place. Everything is starting to get a little too much in her studio.
"Sora-kun and Toshi-kun?! My friends?!" She blinks before scoffing and rolling her eyes as she gets up. She doesn't see the way Yume's eye twitches. "Sorry Yume, they're just friends. We just hang out a lot. They give me more ideas to create or try out." She smiles at some of the more recent sculptures on her shelves. "Some of the more special glaze designs come from Toshi-kun and his ideas."
Yume cracks his knuckles silently as he watches her walk over to the kiln. It should be heated enough to pull the dragon off. Or that it would've exploded by now. She didn't hear any popping sounds, and she smiles at what could possibly be a success. She opens the kiln, bracing against the heat. She places her goggles on so the heat doesn't dry out her eyes before reaching in. She carefully reaches for the top of the dragon, not touching anything but the dragon with her small square of protection.
She wiggles the dragon experimentally, and soon it pops off the shelf in the kiln. She lets out a cry of surprise and joy as she pulls it out of the kiln and places it off to the side before adjusting the temperature for the other pieces she's going to fire. Yume growls as he hops off the table. Watching as she grabs the statue of Kenshi and slowly moves it towards the kiln. She worries that she may drop it, it wasn't her brightest idea to make it so heavy. She sighs, oh well. Lesson learned.
Yume glares at her back, he can't believe she just brushed him off. How could she?! Scenarios play in his mind of what the two disgusting idiots could be doing to his angel. How she must be so filthy now from their touches. How she must have tried to fight them off. Of course! She must have tried to fight them off! Unless she liked it. His frown deepens at the thought. Was having Kenshi and him just not enough? Was everything they did for her just not enough?! He grumbles something under his breath.
Eri turns her head towards him with curious eyes for a moment before catching herself from dropping the statue. "What did you say Yume? I couldn't hear you."
Yume growls before his grumbling turns into growling with anger. He's so angry he doesn't know what to do about it. He lashes out before rushing at Eri, who can't see him. He pushes her forward with no thoughts. She screams as she trips and falls forward, the statue was forgotten as she falls towards the kiln. The statue shatters into multiple pieces as she sticks her arms out to prevent herself from falling into the kiln. Her hands, ungloved, touch the kiln shelf, and tears spring to her eyes as her breath is stolen from her.
The pain sears her as she feels the flesh on her hands starts to blister. As she pulls her hands away, something forces her back into the kiln. Something pressed on her spine, keeping her from standing up and getting her hands out of the kiln. She can't remove her hands or it's her face that would touch the burning hot kiln. She screams as her arms buckle and her flesh burns up to her elbows. Her legs kick out as she loses feeling in her left hand and the tips of her right fingers. She can smell her skin cooking and burning and cries harder. Her screams grow in pitch and she can no longer do anything other than cry for Yume to release her. She knows it's his hands holding her down.
She kicks her legs out, kicking his shins as hard as she can. Eri can barely hear the doors slam open and someone yelling at Yume. The next thing she knows, Eri is in Kenshi's lap, away from the searing heat, not touching anything as she buries her face into Kenshi's shoulder. He wraps his arms around her, holding her tightly, not knowing what to do with a frazzled mind. He takes a deep breath before scooping Eri up and running out of her studio. Kenshi rushes to the medical room. He places her on a bed, and she cries about being left alone with Yume. She's scared out of her mind.
Kenshi glares at Yume as he looks for gauze, wraps, and burn cream. How can she continue to do her ultimate talent if she can't use her arms?! What was Yume thinking?! He marred her beauty! Kenshi yells out that very question as he tries to clean the burnt flesh from all the blood and serum. Yume just smiles at the terrified Eri.
"Now she knows what happens when she doesn't stay with us."
Eri's never felt such fear for another being, not from one she thought she loved.
