Other than messing with and pissing people off, another hobby of Dísa's is to dress up as a guy. In this guise she is polite and charming, especially to the ladies though she's generally more courteous. This guise is more like a tribute to the memory of her dead twin brother, Ríki, since she had significant role in his demise. After Ríki's death Dísa became emotionally unstable a bit; more quick to be angered, physically lashing out at others, developed a tendency for sadism and cruelty etc.
All in all she became a darker version of herself, and with that she also developed the habit of having many aliases. When she's with her father she is Freydís Geilir, with her mother she is either Yagami Suki (弥神 主貴) or Kagebira Kazuki (欠平 火月生), though she hates being called as Suki but the name was given by her mother so it's used nonetheless. When she wishes to have the company of the ladies, she's Yuu (酉), but she has more pseudonyms, and her favourite ones include Tsubakura (燕) and Yuuka (夕花) too.
This is another example of Dísa’s craze of disguising herself as a male. Her breast really cannot be seen because she binds them. On top of that a big number of woman hearts have fallen for her since Kazuki is just as good at lying and pretending as Seka (one of her maternal ancestors who is famous for ruling the clan for hundreds of years). And if we're already at it -though you might have a suspicion, for it was already mentioned-, I can tell you that Dísa has a certain portion of, khmm... bisexuality.
Dísa in her distinctive attire as a girl with her her many-times-mentioned dead twin brother, Ríki who is older than her with sixteen minutes and forty-nine seconds. Dísa often called herself a realist and Ríki a dreamer because of his gentler nature. Well, this doesn't mean that he has the temper of a newborn lamb, he merely has a milder personality than her. (As I mentioned it in my fisrt post about Dísa.)
Ríki’s full name is Freyríkr Geilir though in their mother's home he is referred either as Yagami Suhai (弥神 主伾) or Kagebira Hibiki (欠平 飛火崎), but he still own a third nickname wich is Yuuki (夕毅). Otherwise he is addressed as Ríki, mostly by Dísa and their paternal family.
Dísa appearing as completely human, then in her markless demonic form, and some early concepts about her marks. As I told it before in the first post about her, Dísa (thus Ríki too) is a half fire-demon due to her father, Solarr Geilir (Just Sol to his close friends) who is a pure-blooded fire-demon from Múspellsheimr. Due to her mother she is one-sixth demon (of unknown origin), one-sixth deity and one-sixth human. Because of this, Dísa often says about herself that she is ‘more of a demon than human’. There is nothing wrong with the statement itself, the problem is that Dísa frequently uses this as an excuse for violence.
Also Dísa is quite proud of her pedigree despite of her illegitimate birth and she doesn't hesitate to flaunt both in front of people, mostly to either appal or frighten others. She just likes laughing at others' expression.

Meet Szomolyka (SOH-moy-kah) or Szomi (SOH-mee), or Szom (SOHM), my cat. Actually she’s the third one. By that I ean she’s the third cat in my life, not the third cat in my home. In that regard she falls to the second place since I’m living together with my older brother, Barni (BAWR-nee), and he too has his own cat, Kleó (KLEH-aw). But she has to wait for a more appropriate introduction because I want to ramble about MY cat...
Szomi was born on 27th of July in 2019. She got her name after town called Szomolya, and I just simply added the Hungarian diminutive suffix -ka. The name Szomolya may originate from the Old Slavonic smolja or the Czech smola, both of those mean ‘resin, rosin; tar‘. But it also might be that the town got its name due to some kind of natural characteristic, and the name derived from the phrase “som-alja“ (’dogwood’s bottom’ in English) because a lot of dogwood grew around the town.
Well, either meaning is fine with me actually, though I feel the former is more suitable considering the fact that my fisrt cat Csoki (CHo-kee; Hungarian diminutive for chocolate) was also named after some kind of sticky material. Strangely enough both of them are od the same coat colour, namely blue-cream tabby-tortoiseshell, but in Csoki’s case it was less visible than it is with Szomi, though on the pictures it might not be apparent.
So, here is Dísa (DEE-sa) whose story is spinning for the longest time within my head.
She is the heroine of a novel I’m writing (along with many others) which is titled “Ildebann”. Ildebrann is a Norwegian word that means ‘conflagration’; it’s also serves as an alias for Dísa AND her older twin-brother, Ríki (REE-kee) because they are half fire demons, and thus a bit pyromaniac. No, well, it’s rather just Dísa since Ríki is more sensitive to other people’s feelings and tends to respect them more than Dísa prones to. There you have it: Dísa is no saint. One of her favourite pastime is messing with people for the sake of having fun.
Before I go any further to that direction; Dísa’s full name is Freydís Geilir. Freydís is an Old Norse name compounding the elements freyr (’lord, master’) and dís (’female deity, woman lady, sister’). Hence Dísa is a diminutive for names that contain dís. Similarly, Geilir is also of Old Norse origin; it’s a by-name meaning ‘firey one, hot-tempered’.
Her father is called -or better: he currently calls himself- Solarr Geilir. Of course it’s a Nordic name too; Solarr is made up from either sól (’the Sun’) or solr (’sun-coloured, yellow, sallow’). The element -arr has several possible origins: it may be from -harjaR, (‘army leader, general, warrior’), or from -warjaR (’one who wards, defender’), or from -gaiRaR (’spear’). Geilir was his original name so he chose to use it as a surame for old times’ sake.
And at last but not least: Ríki’s full name is Freyríkr Geilir. Freyríkr contains freyr -the very same element in Dísa’s name too bceause they’re twins- and ríkr (’mighty, distinguished, rich’). Ríki thus is the pet form for the names that comprise ríkr.
After all of this I have to mention that these names might be old-fashioned. anyway Dísa hated being addressed by her full first name but she also loathes to be called as Dísa by people she doesn’t like or know well.
Dísa with her demonic marks. The more Dísa uses her fire demon powers the more extensive they become.
For the Nordic names and their meanings I usually use The Viking Answer Lady or Nordic Names. I can only recommend them if you’re interested in names of Old Norse origin.
