Signposts for three new UG archetypes. Pretty fond of how they all generate cardflow, but all play completely differently.
Blue’s big monsters have always acted green. They’re only in blue because they’re aquatic. So they make a natural UG archetype. Here’s a Winding Way variant, which gets to grab both creatures and lands because it’s multicoloured and limited to a (mostly terrible) tribe. Balanced on the assumption that sea monsters remain expensive and not overly powerful.
Transform-matters has never been a workable archetype in any set. Would probably need new printing technology. But if it was done, it would make sense in UG. Blue and green are the colours of shapeshifting, after all.
Hand-size-matters was a terrible set concept, but various designs have proven it a good card concept. Maybe it could support an archetype. Here’s an enabler / payoff for it.
Eumera project brainstorming.
I unfortunately lack access to the frames that make projects look good, so these are ugly. And I’m throwing random ideas at the wall, so some of these are very questionable design-wise.
Still, I think these ought to be a useful starting point.
Mechanic brainstorming for a set called Generals of Karslav. (Not my own set.)
