Bella opened her mouth before shutting it, not ready to say good-bye to her dearest friend. She didn’t think she ever would be. As hard as it had been to leave Renée , it was somehow nothing compared to this. “I hope I see you before the next time horrible danger is on the horizon,” she finally said, eyes shiny with unshed tears.

        “ what do you think of your new room, mija? i’d say it’s a step up from the nursery..”      a room of her own, a room to call her own. it was something that mirabel had deserved from the very start, and though there were many things that julieta wished she could have done differently, she would do her very best moving forward.     “ have i mentioned how proud of you i am, amor? ”   she had. multiple times.
