So, no, no one thinks this is a good idea. Hell, Barry doesn't think it's a good idea, but unfortunately it is the right thing to do. Everyone, including Eobard fucking Thawne, deserves at least one chance at a redeeming themselves. Also, Iron Heights spends so much money on horse tranquilizers? Like, just so much.
Barry looks at the collar in his hands a last time. Supposedly, it's tamper proof but he's not really sure what that's going to mean to someone like Eobard. He's not going to back out now, though. If this goes off the rails, yeah of course he's out, but he has to at least give Eobard a chance.
He pulls his mask down and runs his hand through his hair before nodding at the guards to let him in. They snap the doors closed behind him. Barry tilts his head a little as he comes inside, looking at Eobard upside down and offering a sheepish smile.
"Hey Eobard," he greets. "How are you- uh, actually, nevermind. I have some good news for you." He holds the antimeta collar in Eobard's view. "After arguing in your case for weeks, they've agreed to let you out on a trial parole. Uh, in my care, obviously. No one else would do it. Obviously..."
Oh this is such a bad idea.
"I mean, they're kicking you out anyways so it's either parole with me or they move you to a maximum security freezer in Belle Reve so- those are your choices."
