I am listening to Judith Butler's "Who's Afraid of Gender?" And I'm only about 45 minutes in but have already had several eye opening/reaffirming moments in which Butler discusses how anti-intellectualism is inherently anti democratic and removes true discussion of policy and culture from public discourse while simultaneously bringing forth the scapegoat of a gender phantom as the tool for both fascism and even neoliberal policy. I also love how Butler acknowledges this idea of returning to a form of patriarchy which never existed

Fucking ///finally//// finished bg3 all the way through. Act 3 is such a slog to get through tbh. I didn't realize that lae'zel immediately hops on a dragon with you immediately without saying goodbye like peace out losers good luck with your fucked up city. Also I wanted wyll and karlach to go off together but then karlach just? Died??? :(. And also gale randomly was a god when the camp scene happened and I was like man I thought we talked about this. But otherwise a good ending.

You know what actually....it's kinda fucked up that they never mention alia in like... the last three books at all. They make a passing reference in GEoD I think about an anti Leto ii cult being formed but even then it's whatever and in dune heretics and chapterhouse she isn't mentioned at all (?) I don't think (the phrase abomination is used I know) but in a book like chapterhouse where the entire focus is the education creation and reproduction of the bene gesserit way of life all the way to ideas of "wild reverend mothers" she's just never mentioned??? The focus is always on Jessica loving leto and birthing the kwisatz haderach but they're never like "oh yeah and there was that time an infant experienced the spice agony, eventually succumbed to other memory and rose to power we gotta make sure that doesn't happen again". Idk that just strikes me as weird
