But he was very much real, his delicate fingers unclasping Edwin’s belt and unzipping the cargo pants that Dorian constantly begged him to replace with something less hideous. (Garish, he’d called them. Edwin had flipped him off, taken off his pants, and put on another identical pair of cargo pants. Mullein had laughed so hard that he couldn’t stop hiccupping for an hour.)

“I told you I have been wanting to do this since I first saw this truck,” Mullein continued, and Edwin lifted his hips to allow him to pull his pants and boxers down to his knees.

Edwin shivered at the brush of fingertips along his sides. “And I’ve told you how ridiculous that is,” he chastised, though the lopsided grin poking through his beard betrayed his affection, and the involuntary gasp he let out when hot breath met his frost-chilled skin betrayed even more.

“Ridiculous, hm?” Mullein rested his hands on Edwin’s thighs, gently pushing them apart. He placed a soft kiss on Edwin’s left knee, then another just a little bit higher. “And yet, here you are, letting me suck your cock in here anyway.”

A jolt of heat spread through Edwin’s body as Mullein’s lips closed in on a spot so near where he wanted them and sucked hard, pinching Edwin’s thigh between his teeth and running his tongue over the bruise he’d surely left. Edwin wasn’t sure what noise he’d made, but it was enough to make Mullein pull away and giggle as he inspected his handiwork.

He reached down to carefully pull the hairtie from Mullein’s ponytail. The slight tug made him groan, and Edwin tried not to get distracted by it. He could easily grab his scalp in both hands and yank him forward, take control, use Mullein’s mouth however he liked. Mullein would love that, he knew. The image of it was enticing enough to make Edwin briefly hesitate.

But that wasn’t his plan this time. Instead, he let Mullein’s hair fall over his shoulders and down his back. His thick, calloused fingers carded through dark strands with a tenderness they often kept out of these affairs in favor of lustful ferocity. Green eyes widened and met his, questioning. Edwin hoped the fondness in his gaze served as an answer.

"I fear we've unleashed a beast," sniffed Dorian with an air of faux-nonchalance belied by the smile that he couldn't seem to stifle, one that Edwin mirrored, "if that silver tongue has a use outside the bedroom."

"Is it just me, or are they worse today?" Sera scowled, ignoring Cullen as he tried to circumvent her on the path to the trashcan to dump out the used coffee grounds. "Why are they worse today."

Edwin turned as he felt a slender hand on his shoulder, that damned smile fixed on his face as he caught a glance of a fitted brown blazer and midnight-dark hair. One of his hands drifted up to tangle their fingers together.

"Hey, dove," he said in a low, affectionate rumble. "Did you sleep alright?"

If he hadn't already been on cloud nine, Edwin might have realized starkly that he and Mullein weren't in the warm bubble of their apartment. As it stood, he was still riding the high of the night before (and seeing Dorian's pretty blush), and he gently took the elf's other hand to press a kiss to his knuckles.

Mullein's cheeks flushed a bright red all the way up to the tip of his pretty ears. Edwin distantly heard Sera retching and Cullen reprimanding Dorian for attempting an escape during his shift, but his lover's skin had been soft under his lips and was beginning to lose its persistent chill in his grasp, and that was all that mattered for the time being.

"M-my love," said Mullein, and Edwin felt a surge of pride in the stutter in his usually smooth cadence. "People are watching us, I'm sure you're aware."

To any other person, it would have sounded like a reprimand. But if the familiar lilt in the elf's voice was anything to go by, he enjoyed being the center of such attention thoroughly.
