I like to think that it took Adrien a little longer to catch up with everyone for ice cream at the end of the season three finale. Unless the boy’s completely oblivious (and y’know, I’m not ruling that out), it really ought to have seemed strange to him that Marinette hadn’t come shambling up to the school in response to Chloe’s summons with all the other miraculous users. I respect that a lot was going on at the time, and it might not have occurred to him to wonder about her absence aloud in the middle of the battle. But really, as far as he knew, Marinette should have been there welding the mouse miraculous. As soon as the fighting stopped, and he looked around, it must have crossed his mind. And I like to imagine that once he had a moment alone, he took off running, his ring beeping, warning him that he could find himself stranded on a rooftop in his street clothes at any moment, but he didn’t care. Because he couldn’t shake the thought that the only reason Marinette wouldn’t have answered Chloe’s call is if she couldn’t answer it. What if she got stung by one of those trance-inducing-bees at an inopportune time, fell down a flight of stairs and broke her leg? Or was trampled by a stampede of panicked civilians? I like to think he went all the way back to Le Grand Paris, but couldn’t find her, and only belatedly thought to try calling her cellphone after his ring timed out. And only THEN, after he heard Marinette’s voice on the line, telling him that everyone was getting ice cream back at the same spot where----to their knowledge---he just was, did he finally make his way to meet up with everyone.
