âEspecially if you value your insignificant life.â
â JESUS. â Her meager wisecrack was not taken with an identical sense of humor in any way, shape or form. In fact, he appeared to be exceedingly offended by her poor quip. â You know, most people would take that as a compliment. Have you seen how big a tube sock is? â She made an attempt to save herself by suggesting something clever, but taken by his choice of action and the low levels of merriment, an overwhelming sense of doubt enveloped her better judgement. Tossing back the remains of her vodka and soda mix, she turned in her stool to fully face him, a brow quirking at the mention of parents, followed by a set of hushed chuckles.
â The only thing my parents ever taught me was how to properly take a shot of tequila and to keep a brick handy when you're trying to break into a vacant house cause the homeless shelters are full. â A mocking scoff resonated past her lips before she took a drag from the cigarette that spent more time sitting between lithe fingers than searing her lungs. Each drag alieviated her, shoulders no longer sitting so high and posture slowly declining back into that bend over the counter top. Only then did she let her gaze wander back, practically catching daggers in her sockets with how sharp his stare was; relative to the blade he had in hand. Fingertips drummed at an uneven rhythm against the wooden surface, patience running thinner while he loomed closer, causing her body to crane further away on it's own.
Did he just purposely cut his finger? And lick it? The way her brows knit together expressed her confusion, hand pushing the empty glass nearly off the edge with how distacted she'd become with his behavior. At this day and age, not much surprised Fiona anymore, but she occasionally had to make exceptions when bizarre things like this happened. It was obvious she was preplexed, plush tiers nearly fully ajar, throat vocalizing deep octaves while she fished for the impending words. â What, the wine here doesn't suit you? â She was relentless with the antics tongiht. â I don't know what's so great about your life, but I can tell you that even if mine is SHITTIER, it's not insignificant. Don't be prick. â
