The vigilante pulled the dying batteries from the holders and threw them over the edge of the roof to open of the dumpsters below, head cocking to the side as they waited for the clanging of them hitting the edge. They were doing better, double d was teaching them and they had their sister back home trying her best to get into college, but it just felt like that meant there weren’t any more favours they could cash in.
‘ There’s no other way, ’ they whispered, eyes cast firmly in the direction of the Ghost Spider, they had that in common, the both of them ghosts in their own worlds. Maybe a little dramatically, he tilted his head towards where he knew spare batteries were waiting for him, safe on the other side of the roof and far away from his possibly dislocated knee.

a very loud laugh erupts. peter is exhausted. he hasn’t been able to sleep through the nights lately, and with all his spider-man-ing he’s completely drained. the laugh is hysterical. her comment is hardly something funny and yet as he stands, slightly wobbling, covered in dirt and rain and mud from another late night he can’t help but laugh. “thank you!”

⭑ ࣪˖ Sam crouched down on the edge of the building and pressed his lips together, head turning to listen to the other hero’s heartbeat; honest and strong, but fast. Sometimes it was hard to separate what Daredevil was teaching him from Blindspot’s values. Daredevil was infamous for wanting to be alone, even if circumstance didn’t always let him ( especially if the circumstance was him ), Sam didn’t want that for Blindspot, and he didn’t want that for Chinatown. Solo heroes had a tendency to get a little crazy. He understood the Ghost Spider’s words deep, in his bones where all the verses his mom would recite to him before bed still sat.
At a loss for what to say in return, Sam took a long breath- shakey and sobering all at once- before tipping his chin up defiantly and swallowing. With long fingers, he grasped at the back of his mask and pulled it over his head, revealing his face to the cold air of the early hours or late night.
