Topspin Expands MTV Partnership
Ironically, music television is not the best place to go when you want to hear new music from the latest artists. During prime time these channels on TV are filled with reality shows and other nonsense that aren’t directly related to music or music making. Turn on the TV at 3 in the morning and you’ll likely see some videos playing. I guess the heads at MTV and other music television channels have figured out that reality television is more entertaining than actual music – but in order to be considered a music outlet, the music has to go somewhere right? You can find it online. Music Television’s website is beginning to be restructured to make it visitor friendly. That means that instead of getting the same layout as you do on TV, the website can be structured around personal wants and needs. Topspin media is seeing this through by finding ways to connect both artists and fans, even independent artists. Their ultimate goal is to become another source of music, not unlike Pandora or Spotify, where users can simply buy music online. Anyone is free to open an Artist Link account, and other music television channels are joining the cause, such as VH1 and even CMT. http://www.hypebot.com/hypebot/2013/06/topspin-expands-mtv-partnership-adds-free-digital-sales-tools.html
