OKADA MAN! The Okada (a Nigerian slang for the commercial motorcycle transportation) business is illegal in Ghana, and so the motor riders involved in this business operate at the mercy of the Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU) of the Ghana Police Service. Although it's illegal the business keeps growing. Some of these guys try as much as they can to operate away from MTTU officers. Many people have raised concerns about the growth of the Okada business and has been described as a nuisance in the city. But the rate at which Accra's traffic situation is worsening by the day, one will rely on these Okada to run quick errands.
