Pico De Loro.
We were here 5 months ago. Yes we conquered it. It was a tough battle, we’ve experienced ups and downs (literally) . The trail was tough and it was a 3-4 hours trek (well for us, including water breaks). But it was all worth it.
Months after, DENR has announced that the mountain will be closed for rehabilitation and recover. It was a saddening story for some of the mountaineers who are yet to climb this beautiful mountain. It will roughly take around 3-4 years before it will be opened again.
Let’s all just hope that when Pico De Loro opens up once more, it’ll be better than before and it’s beauty will be preserved through out the coming years for generations to come.
