Was working when the sun was rising. Then I sold every meeting I had. Then I wrote and set up and made/edited an advertisement for my special class tomorrow morning.... Am I girl bossing yet?
I was quietly making fun of the number of people I saw taking selfies of themselves looking at the sun the other week but actually all it did was make me hyper aware of when I take a selfie at a "place" or "event" and I think I've identified why at least I like doing it.
Selfies are so often a bit forced or contrived, either you gotta keep up with the content mill and farm those licks and click follows, or someone else posts a really good one and you're like "yeah I want some of that positive reinforcement" so you brush your hair or put something nice on and try and find the right lighting and the right pose and...it's work.
Sometimes though, sometimes you're at an amazing place with a spectacular view or seeing an incredible show and the vibes are immaculate, you're truly and completely present in the moment grounded in your slice of time and you want to capture that feeling.
It will almost definitely be completely meaningless to other people, they weren't there, they didn't feel it, but everytime you look at it you'll remember a fraction of how you felt right then, you'll read it on your face the way only you can, a candid capture that's truly you.
Anyway this is now one of my favourite selfies for all those reasons, I didn't even take a picture of the view that I'm looking at, my phone camera could never do it justice, I wouldn't feel the same way looking at a picture of the view as I do looking at myself looking at the view. And I think that's neat.
