Watched that new The Mummy. It's bad.
I had high expectations because I read some posts saying it's scary and good. I also expected it to be mostly about Egyptian folklore(idk if that's the term). But what I saw is just another possession movie. It's your typical white family cursed by something but this time it's from an Egyptian demon instead.
It's a little gory and goes really crazy with it. I'm not really a fan of that especially if it involves kids. I also had to drop a star because of that VHS, that was awful. I hate seeing kids suffer. The fact they made the parents watch was awful.
Speaking of the parents, they suck as characters tbh. They don't really do much besides from being too stupid so the movie will go on. The amount of times they've left their children knowing there is a threat inside their home. It pissed me off that in the end everyone was being possessed because these two didn't even bother to gather their other kids even if it means they'll see how their oldest sister suffered. IDK LIKE IT WAS DUMB, THEY'RE DUMB.
I feel bad for the youngest child like she got possessed too and they didn't even notice that her behavior has changed.
I can't hit backspace so these are spaced out weirdly. Anyway I rated this 0.5/5 in Letterboxd. If only I could do 0, I could. I just don't like it. It's full of shock factor, story was dragging on for too long and the characters are dumb. Like they just had to be dumb so they could continue with the story it's so stupid.
