Ask more things here :)
I got suspended.Again, Lee wrote angrily on his arm.
What did you do thistime? His soulmate, S, wrote back quickly.
I punched some homo, the school got pretty mad, Charles scrawled back, almost breaking his pen.
Homo?
Yeah some dick calledJ - Charles attempted to write therest of the name, but it burned off his skin quickly. Fuck I forgot you canât do names. But he had it coming.
Why, for being gay?
Charles sighed, not really wanting to respond.
Because if thatâs thecase, I hate to break it to you⊠S wrote, and Charles froze. Iâm bi.
Charlesâ eyes widened, and he curled up on his bed, tuckinghis knees to his chest. He couldnât believe his soulmate was bi. Because⊠if headmitted it to himself, the idea of being with a guy was enticing⊠Charlestamped down those thoughts. He wasnât gay.
Thatâs cool, hewrote back, wincing at how lame the words sounded. I mean I just donât like when guys are all in your face about it. LikeI donât want any dudes hitting on me.
The words sounded wrong as he wrote them out, but heshrugged it off. S would understand. She would have to.
Well I guess I shouldstop thenâŠ
Charlesâ pulse picked up, his eyebrows shooting up hisforehead. S was⊠a boy? His hands shaking, he rose his pen once more, hiswriting coming out smudged:
No donât⊠Iâm sorry.
Charles placed his face in hishands, shaken. Angrily, he threw his pen at the wall, leaving a large blot ofink on impact.

Lee took a long walk through thecity the next day, looking at every boyâs face, wondering if they could be S. HisS, who had been eerily silent since the night before.
Time passed slowly in this vein,Charlesâ anger translating into rage-filled homophobic slurs to people he cameacross, namely that pansy Gilbert. It wasnât until several weeks had passed âwith little communication with S â that he made any progress. One lunch time, hewrote a long apology to S, explaining that heâd always been afraid of beinggay, and that he projecting that on others⊠it felt so cheesy to say, sostupid, but he felt a weight lift off him after heâd written it.
I have to tell you something, S wrote back after a few minutes.
Excited, Charles scrawled back, What??
I know who you are.
Charlesâ heart leapt into histhroat.
âC?â he heard from behind him.His heart pounding, he whipped his head around. A short, skinny whisp of a boywas standing in front of him, his mousy brown hair falling into his eyes.
âSam,â Charles breathed, hisface splitting into a wide grin as he rushed up to Samuel Seabury. For once inhis life, not caring if anyone thought he was gay, he wrapped his soulmate in atight hug, relieved heâd found him at last.
