I’m going to start with worst so we can end on a positive note. This one is mostly personal preference, as I really enjoy satisfying endings and hopeful messages.

I didn’t like the Tommy in Prison arc.

The Disk Finale received a lot of praise for being a hopeful end to a really dark and depressing arc from Tommy between his exile and Doomsday. Sure, the characters may not have been perfect angels (repeatedly killing someone who already surrendered comes to mind) but seeing everyone unite with the shared purpose of protecting Tommy and Tubbo after everything they’ve gone through was heartwarming.

It sent the message that ultimately people are good and want to help (there’s no way Tommy actually paid Punz more than Dream did). It showed that it’s ok to have attachments, to be a little selfish. Tubbo survived and wasn’t forced into some warped sacrifice to give Tommy a tragic motivation. Tommy got to keep his friendships and the disks that were so valuable because of that sentiment. There was time for peace, for healing, for moving on.

And then just as Tommy was taking the steps to get over what Dream did to him he got trapped in the prison.

This is not to say nothing good came from that, some interesting concepts for Tommy’s character and the afterlife came from his death and we got to see more of what’s going on inside the prison with Dream, but it fell flat for me because it felt like just an extension of the exile arc. More of Tommy suffering with no purpose and no end in sight, just after we started to see him heal.

So yeah, not a fan.

I kinda feel like I’m cheating with my favorite one, because it spans almost the entire series since L’manburg’s independence.

I love Quackity’s corruption arc.

Everything about Quackity’s character is so consistent and well written, and he’s a perfect example of a character who has strengths that can be weaknesses in the wrong situation.

Quackity is ambitious. His constant is seeking power, generally for the sake of stopping others from abusing their power. That’s the reason Wilbur characterized him as neutral good. He’s also far from perfect. Remember, cc!Quackity said the tipping point in supporting Schlatt was the Whitehouse. Not Schlatt exiling political opponents and declaring himself emperor day one, not Tubbo’s execution. Even then he was willing to cross lines to secure power.

First he runs for president to stop Wilbur from becoming an unchallenged dictator, then he turns on Schlatt when he thinks he’s gone too far, then the Butcher Army, attacking a man he knows is retired because he needs to prove New L’manburg is a threat for their safety.

We see him slip further and further into corruption as he loses more and more, moving from the need for security to making excuses to do things like manipulating Sam and torturing Dream and destroying Purpled’s home. But it’s ok because he needs this power so he can use it to protect people and stop the bad guys.

The tldr is that the perspective of the dream smp is super cool because you can see how each character’s actions make sense in their own context. Tommy taking the axe of peace is empowering from his pov because it shows him accepting his own worth after exile. From Techno’s pov it feels like Tommy is saying Techno’s trust is worth nothing. Anyway-

That's a really good point and I wouldn't have even considered it. I guess stealing happens so often in the dream smp that I just don't really pay attention to it anymore. People often justify theft in this setting because of that commonplace desensitization, but just because something is common doesn't make it moral. Taking advantage of others is wrong no matter what form it takes.

This guy is a cryptid, I don’t know if I would be surprised to learn anything about him at this point. His parents met at some kind of martial arts retreat thing, he had a roblox story telling channel when he was younger, he narrowed down which college squid kid went to to three schools during the potato wars.

Haha, sorry for the confusion! I had a few followers on my main account that were probably there for the cat pictures and memes, I didn’t want to flood them with dream smp stuff. It was probably worse before I changed the name on that one to at least somewhat match this one. I’m just here to commit crimes against the english language and cause problems I guess  😊

Anon I would say I would die for you but since that post was about how death isn't the be all end all it's treated as that would feel too ironic.

Basically I'm just referring to people choosing the weakest arguments from that side of the fandom, or arguments I've never even seen those people make, acting as though that's the reasoning every person uses and arguing against that instead of the real points. In this case I'm talking about people doing this against Techno apologists.

This isn't to say Dream apologists never use strawman arguments, I've seen them use several against Tommy (although half the time it's clearly ironic), I'm just not as invested in that so I don't care as much.
