Damn, this system is just powering over Mississippi. Tuscaloosa better be prepared in a few hours. See if this thing holds up as it moves into Birmingham…
Gonna be a stormy night! Stay weather aware, have your phone alerts turned on, have a plan!
#Nicholas is a #hurricane. Max winds 75 mph. Moving NNE 10 mph. 20 miles SE of Matagorda. Big problem is that Nicholas will slow down. Slow movement means heavy rain. Source: @wdsu #lawx #mswx #nola #ThevitaminQ https://www.instagram.com/p/CTz3koYrXGH/?utm_medium=tumblr

Short post this evening!
Rain has moved out and skies are clearing in North Mississippi tonight. Expect this to continue with partly to mostly clear skies with lows near freezing.
Tomorrow: get out and enjoy it while you can. Sunshine will be back with a few passing clouds. Highs in the 50s!!
Forecast 01/21/2021
I can sum up today in one word, sad. Cloudy, drizzle, and cool just does not mix well with me. Although it does make for great sleeping weather, and that will be the case for tonight. Tomorrow morning showers should end leaving us with cloudy skies. However, Saturday looks to be a nicer day with sun and temperatures in the 50s!
Tonight: Light rain likely, especially south of Starkville and Columbus. Lows in the mid 40s.
Tomorrow, Drizzle with some patchy fog early in the morning, then cloudy in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 50s.
Forecast 01/20/2021
It turned out to be a fine day across Northern Mississippi with most folks reaching the mid 50s. Since this afternoon, the clouds have rolled back in and light rain is moving into west MS. Currently it is still too dry at the surface to have any measurable rain, but after midnight that will change. Here is a future radar projection from midnight - 8AM produced by the HRRR.

After mid morning tomorrow, rain should begin to sink south of the US82 corridor, but sun will stay hidden as clouds will persist through the day. More rain will move back into Northern MS by the evening time tomorrow night. Rain amounts should generally be light with maybe up to 0.50″ by tomorrow evening across the counties near Tupelo.
Tonight: Rain, lows in mid 40s, winds light
Tomorrow: Rain in the morning, followed by cloudy skies for the rest of the day. Highs in the mid 50s, winds light.
