If I may be a ship anti once (because it's related to the longfic I recently concluded): I... can't fucking stand Radioapple.
I don't hate the dynamic they have in canon: said dynamic played a pretty major role in my longfic in question where Alastor basically took advantage of Lucifer's trauma for a bit of fun. What I hate is the "cutesy" way I see it portrayed in the fandom. No hate to any artists in particular, you can do whatever you want with fanon stuff of course but... god do said "cutesy" portrayals feel so off and kind of icky to me. Alastor and Lucifer feel like they genuinely hate each other for reasons I find far more compelling than any "positive" dynamic between them ever would be. Lucifer is exactly the kind of privileged white man Alastor would've murdered in life (dude was a black man in the Jim Crow era South I'd like to remind you) and Lucifer hates all sinners for reasons I probably don't have to explain. They're also NOT "both father figures" to Charlie, Alastor only pushed that narrative to try and drive a wedge between Charlie and Lucifer, which didn't work. Alastor never brings that up or acts in any "fatherly" way towards Charlie at any other point outside of that act.
Any alliance Alastor and Lucifer could ever have would be tenuous at best, hence why their alliance against Vox to protect Charlie in my fic fell apart by the end. It's not shippy in the least and I'm very happy to have not gotten comments of that nature because frankly, it would piss me off. If you must know where my shipping biases with Lucifer and Alastor do lie, I want Lucifer and Lilith to be a happy couple and Alastor to me is a non-partnering aroace whose dynamics with characters like Vox, Rosie, Mimzy, and Emily catch my eye in a completely non romantic context.
