Short HaxGGs Sidequest about the IRL zoo stream (fuck zoos in the capitalist system btw) because Iām a multishipper and like exploring Hax through other characters eyes
āDude, the air is very thick in hereā
Max pushes the curtains out of the way and the hot air hits him in the face. He hopes the camera doesnāt blur and that the bitrateās staying stable enough to support the stream.
āWhy are there chains?ā Hax asks beside him as they break through the last curtains and enter the warm humid air of the butterfly house.
Thereās people there, so Max makes an effort to turn the camera away from them and towards the many butterflies flitting around.
He doesnāt know how well people on stream can see them but itās stunning.Ā
Sure heās seen butterflies before but, āOh my god, theyāre everywhereā
He moves to look around Hax close on his heels as a really pretty red and black butterfly flies across the small path. Max wishes he had listened better as his mother told him about all the different butterflies so he could say what type it was, just while he flows it with the camera, cooing at it.
Suddenly a butterfly charges at him and heās slipping back into the entertainer role fast as he jokes about it and the one on the ceiling.
Max turns to Hax and grins at him.
Wants to joke while taking a last slow shot over the tropical plants all around.
But he feels stopped in his tracks as butterflies surround Haxās face almost looking like theyāre sitting down on his silky hair.
And fudge, he is forcefully reminded of his own bisexuality, because wow.
Max feels himself blushing a little and heās more than happy that he will be able to cool down away from the camera on the way out.
Like obviously he knows Hax is beautiful and handsome, theyĀ doĀ have this - for the lack of a better descriptor - weird half dating half something else thing going on, but he wasnāt hit by it like this before.
Because the sunlight through the smudged glass ceiling hits him perfectly, lighting his dark hair up like a halo.
The butterflies make him look like an ancient deity.
Well, except for the sweater and sweatpants at least.
Not that he doesnāt like it, it just doesnāt fit with the deity simile.
But what analogies are even logical with Hax.
Hax tilts his head at him, visually confused, and Max does his best to smile at him, making sure to keep the camera in motion so the stream doesnāt catch up with his slip up.
Hax is beautiful. Thatās a realization.
Maybe this is a date, too, not just their getting food beforehand but also this stream. Because if it werenāt he sure as heck wouldnāt have had a bi panic in a butterfly house.
āIt was really hot in there.ā
Max comments as they leave through the opposite curtains and chains.
Itās still stream. Itās still work.
Even if he kinda feels like on a date.
It can be both. For sure.
āYeahā Hax answers and for a short moment Max ponders on whether or not he should tell Hax later what he just thought.
He probably will. Hax deserves to know.Ā
And Max is surely not going to pass on a chance to see him get all shy about the compliment.
