Minseok attended the workshops 3 times a week due to the fact that he was on set for the Kim Family drama and he was thankful that there was still a semblance of normalcy in his life so far. He wasn't sure how he'd go about things if there was any major change in his life. He actually really liked the appeal of having normal workshop and still continuing on with the actor training in his path since he wanted to learn more and become better.
One afternoon during the workshops, he settled next to Youngmin. He sighed. "all this psychology and sociology is making my brain hurt..." he stated, drinking his water and leaning against the wall beside the other boy. "Isn't this so incredibly exhausting?" he asked, looking at Youngmin. "wouldn't you rather be anywhere else?"

he had missed the prior audition for cram school and as such only managed a support role in the new drama and it would be his first week on set. In addition, it was his first time ever in filming since he'd always been a student in university and a bartender on the side and had only delved into this world because he was told that he was too pretty to bartend all his life.
He was incredibly nervous and felt extremely out of place, debating if he should stay here or leave. As much as he wanted to leave, he'd had 10 hours of preparation for the filming and he wasn't afraid to tackle the drama. Looking around the set, he spotted a familiar face also on standby. "Hey, Aaron," he grinned, walking over to his friend. Maybe the other would have some advice to ease his nerves. "It's so nerve-wracking. Is it always like this for a first time on a filming set in general?"
On his third episode, he was glad to have someone like Jinah since she was a gamer herself and he knew that she had already played dnd before, they could skip the awkward first timer walk through. It was going to be fun since Minseok could let loose a little more with her around. He leaned on the wall, having set up his entire dnd set up already. He was excited for the campaign he had planned for today since he could afford to go bit more out there.
He grinned widely seeing his cousin. Jinah and Jinseo were the more tolerable duo out of the whole family. "JINAH!" he happily exclaimed, seeing the girl walk in. "Honestly you have no idea how happy am I to see you! After the disaster that was last week, i think this will be quite a fun time," he stated.
"May I offer you a juice, or snacks before we start?" he asked, playing the polite host as always since that was the appeal he tried to have. The campaign he'd prepared today for her would be quite fun for both of them with all the fun stuff from Monty Python's Search for the Holy Grail.
Minseok was glad that his first episode of a show on vlive was to be with family. It felt much more comfortable with family. He had all his books (monsters, essentials and the players rulebook), a few sets of dice (he absolutely wasn’t a dice goblin and totally did not have a box filled with die under his bed) and his notebook with his campaign written out and he was just waiting for his cousin to show up. He was excited to share the passion that he had for dungeons and dragons and the games he’d played with his university friends.
seeing his cousin arrive he grinned widely. “jinseo!!” he exclaimed, excited. “i’m so glad that you’re my first official guest! do i look okay?” he asked, grinning. minseok was incredibly nervous but he was hoping that this would be okay. “i’m excited but so nervous...man...i’ve never actually hosted my own thing!”
Minseok was eager to go forth for a lead role audition. The announcement that LGC Creatives and Naver would be doing a second season of Cram School made him really excited. He'd missed the first audition for Cram School and instead would be able to go for a lead character in this one. He had conferred with his cousin and they would go in together with an idea. He was actually quite excited since this would be his first official lead role audition. Maybe he'd get it.
The job had been to come up with an idea of a character complete with age, background and personality, and present it to the producers of cram school with the idea of how the character would fit within the cram school universe. He was pretty excited with the idea that he'd ended up coming up with. Upon the day of his audition, he'd ironed out all the details that he needed and shown up with his idea. "So, I've been thinking about this for a while, and I think I have come up with a good character. His name is Son Joowon. He has a younger twin sister but they are as different as the sun and moon, despite being fraternal twins. Joowon is a third year student in university, majoring in chemistry and gives off mad scientist vibes. He's an alumni of Yi Hwang High School where he and his twin sister held a reputation as being the school's most beautiful siblings, and he earns money through part time tutoring at the prestigious cram school under the watchful eye of Nam Sarang's Baek Nahyun. He's often inadvertently in competition with his twin sister since she takes up a position at the cram school as well." he started, describing his idea.
Minseok was quite nervous on this as well since if this went well, this would be his first official lead role and not a support role like in Kim Family. This would be the start to showing off his range, that he could do more than just the basic background character. He could do this. "I was also thinking that he has quite a prankster attitude due to his mad scientist aesthetic and his friends end up being his test subjects for his crazy ideas." he added. He twiddled his thumbs and brought up the other fact as well.
"My cousin is auditioning as well as his twin sister, since we wanted to play on the fact that everyone in real life mistakes us as siblings, and we thought it would be quite fun to audition as a pair of chaotic twins. Joowon is usually disinterested in being an overachiever and thus is often on the receiving end of his sister's drop kicks that she delivers every time she sees him," he added. He though that they were pretty amusing and this would definitely expand on his range. "But all in all, he's a charming and smart university student with a mad scientist side that gets him in trouble with teachers, friends and crushes," he added, with a grin.

Once the workshops had ended, Minseok had to think on what sort of character could he come up with from scratch. He had two weeks to think on this. He began thinking of what he could do. Maybe stick to his roots and simply dramatize parts.
Then an idea popped into his head. Based on the things that they learned in the workshop, that one's background will affect the way one walks, talks and reacts to things, Minseok pondered if he could pull off something like Fallon Carrington in dynasty only a bit more cruel and cold. A major crime could be embezzlement or murder. He pondered this.
On the day of the interrogation, two weeks after they were finished with the workshops, Minseok arrived to the workshops once again. His entire vibe was different. Over the two weeks, he'd thought of a character, created a background and even decided to dramatize his own life a bit. He wore a pressed black suit, with a dark blue button down and his hair was styled to perfection. The character he'd ended up creating was partially inspired by Fallon Carrington and Chuck Bass and then a bit of spice thrown in more.
The background that he'd pondered on and finally determined that was the ideal path for him was a tragically devious backstory. The second son of a prominent businessman, wealthy and with an affinity for spending money and making people's lives absolute hell. The crime committed? Embezzlement of millions. Reason why?: Lack of money to spend on his lavish lifestyle. A casual smirk rode on his lips at all times. It wasn't really tragic now that he thought about it but he could pull this off perfectly. When it was his turn, he strolled into the interrogation as though he had nothing to hide. His walk was purposeful, relaxed, calm.
"Embezzlement is a major crime, you know." the detective began. Minseok leaned forward, his gaze cold. "And?" he asked, his tone portraying zero effect. It was in his character's psyche to not be emotional. "Next you're going to tell me that you have something on me," he said, his tone cold. There was like a sort of chaos about him. The detective kept interrogating him and Minseok always had a snarky reply or just kept silent. "My lifestyle is none of your business," he stated.
"Oh, but it is. When the money ran out and daddy stopped funding, you resorted to stealing. How much did you steal?"
"Stealing makes it sound so ungentlemanly. There's always women willing to give and there's always ways to make them," he stated, his tone smooth and uncracking. When his two hour were past, Minseok smirked. "Next time, maybe some concrete evidence, detective. Otherwise, speculation won't hold up in court, at all." he stated, stalking out of the room. He grinned to himself as he was out, breaking character completely. That was so much fun!
Romance was a pain. Dating was an annoyance. He’d seen so many horror stories (from very very public breakups, to girls (and guys) sobbing with their friends surrounded by alcohol muttering about what an asshole/bitch their significant other was, to constant complaints from married couples about the littlest things.) You mention it, he’s probably seen it in person. That was the not-so-great thing about working at the bar. It made one lose hope in love and romance. Hell, even sex was disappointing, since he’d seen so many people complain and whine and cry about everything.
Now even his family was getting on board. Constantly telling him that he should date that he should go out, but people were such a hassle. He was convinced that he was the only one with the same situation where love and romance were just ugh. Until he overheard his fellow acting trainee on the phone also seemingly complaining of the same thing. He had approached her after her call and he leaned on the wall next to her.
"I couldn't help but over hear that you're also being heckled by i suppose family to date and get romantic," he said, grinning at Jiwoo. They had been part of the same morning training crew for a while. "I find myself in the same situation where I am being heckled by family to date, but honestly I have no interest in that." he stated. Minseok then gazed at Jiwoo with a grin. "I may have an idea that will benefit us both in this spot though," he added.
Minseok was quite excited for the new faces filming. When they were told that they had to fill out a questionnaire with their personalities, minseok filled his out all the while muttering to himself about 'should i put that on there? does that make me extra?' He finished his questionnaire with a sneaky grin.
He ended up writing that he's a genius bartender with an engineering degree and an elite background. He felt like that was enough to get a feel for who he is.
Once that part was done, they were told to assume a character role and be that while the mcs guessed who's profile was whose. Minseok immediately shifted the way he was sitting and assumed an almost girlish pose. He'd seen a lot of different people at the bar in Hongdae where he worked so he could easily assume a sort of mix of all those people. He sat like one of those super prettied up girls in the ganguro style and his facial expression was almost bored like the regular who usually sat across him and drank shots of whiskey. He could totally maintain this visual for the whole time.
When he was asked question,he made sure to add a lot of inflections on words like those tourists from the US who often came in to ask for directions, making his own Korean almost sound foreign. It was easy since he knew a bit of English as well and could throw in the random English word in there at some point.
All in all he was having fun with this created mishmashed character that he had created simply from the people he'd observed in his time.
When his profile was correctly guessed, he stood up and took a bow with a laugh. "Yeah thats me. I have an engineering degree from Seoul National, worked incredibly hard all through school and university to get it and even pulled all nighters. Graduated with the degree back in 2016." He explained when asked about it.
