I could totally see a child of Iris with glasses that help them send messages or use light to see anything or any place they want! Other powers Iris has are energy blasts, pyrokinesis or virtuakinesis (creating illusions), perhaps the glasses can be used as a tool to focus those powers? 

You can also have the glasses have a power that is unrelated to her heritage - like how Annabeth’s cap makes her invisible or Piper’s blade shows visions.

These kind of questions are exactly why I advise against writing coming out scenes for characters that you don’t share a sexuality or gender identity with. Most of the questions I’ve had in the ask box have been related to coming out and honestly, the answer is:

It’s generally a bad idea. You’re going to get it wrong, and it’s going to hurt someone. Writing characters of differing identities and sexuality from your own is a good thing, yes, even when you get things wrong, but coming out is important to a lot of people, and if you mess it up, it’s hard for readers to forget it.
