Bad Dreams
cont. from @mpxrileyhowell
He's unsure but he understands that she might be more so and timidly, tenderly he reaches out to level things with her. "Angela," he speaks as he pulls her into a hug right up against the warmth of his skin, "there's not a single bit of you that I wouldn't sell my soul to love more than I already do."
Riley knows that he's not always believed in fate but how often does it throw the very person that makes the world feel right back into your life again? How often does it cradle them as best it can until your paths cross again and only amplify the feelings you carried for years? "I want to experience, learn and care for every side of you. Please, I can't lose you twice in my life."
That voice that sings around the world is singing for her, "Let me in Angela."
Angela scrambled awake after having drifted asleep while they watched a television show. Nightmares had began to escalate lately, especially with what Yoongi told her. She had appreciated Riley’s presence lately, though she did not know what she had done to deserve it. He was her friend, and she associate all of his feelings platonically. In truth, she did not think she deserved anything more.
As she is pulled into his embrace, her eyes widened in surprise, but her arms slowly hook around his neck as she attempts to process his words, naturally pulling him into a hug like she always did. Angela was no stranger to affection, but her head tilts in confusion though the smallest flush colors her cheeks. “Oh, Riley. You love the person you remember.” She speaks softly, and her chin rested over his shoulder, seeking to avoid his gaze. “And this person is no longer worth the price of your soul.”
It is a soft laugh that leaves her lips as she curls into his grasp. “You are my friend. I am not going anywhere, especially not with Siwoo to raise.” She speaks softly, tilting her head toward the direction as she listened for his little snores that carried from his cracked bedroom door. She stays silent for a few moments after his request, and she shakes her head. “If you knew what happened to me when I disappeared, your tune would change Riley. Somethings are better left in the dark, where they belong.”
