It’s a thing he does now, finding the Japanese god amidst the others in Mount Phoenix and opening a portal from the Underworld right in front of the man’s feet. It’s not that he enjoys randomly creating chasms in Mount Phoenix’ soil, and he always makes sure not to do it in anyone else’s way, but the Japanese god’s reactions are always too good.

Admittedly the first time had been accidental, he had just needed to get back to the island and hadn’t meant to scare the stranger, but after doing it again a second time just to check his reaction and getting the same startled visage in front of him, it had become a bit of a sport to occasionally visit the other god out of nowhere just to startle him again.

Every single time, over and over again, he manages to get the desired response and that’s why he keeps doing it, of course. He is nothing if not a mischievous soul, will chase the laughter wherever it can be found - which is an entirely different image than most people used to have of him in his time.

Susanoo, he’s figured out after talking to the other god several times now, has had quite the same happen to him, has found himself misunderstood plenty of times before. And maybe it’s that, or maybe it’s just that Hades likes the guy, but he seeks him out more than he does most other people.

  The Mayan demigod pops the gum in his mouth, full lips sucking it back in as he brings his hazel eyes up from the heavy textbook he has spread on his lap. It’s the slow part of the afternoon at Honeypot so his staff and he are lounging until the first rush comes in.

  “When you get so interested in what I’m interested in, eh?” his language is relaxed, informal even because he is too haughty nearly for his own good. The trouble is that were he anyone else this might warrant a stern talking to but the way he carries himself, even while defiant screams that he won’t back down even to authority if he doesn’t want to.

  Still, though the words seem a bit sharp with the other, Dakota’s stare is nothing as cruel. There’s a returned curiosity as he looks at the other man standing before him. “I been learnin’. Music, Korean, Business- gettin’ my ducks in a row so this-”
