Chapter 7: The Bloodline of Hope
Deep in the darkness of the forest behind the base, the giant chrysalis shook violently before bursting open. The 'Origin Alien' emerged, towering over the clearing. Purple slime dripped from its aggressive, iron-hard body. Thap ordered his men to open fire, but the bullets simply ricocheted off as if hitting stone walls. Even the high-frequency sound speakersātheir trump cardāwere useless; the creature had evolved beyond their reach!
Watching his company being slaughtered one by one, Thapās fury overcame his fear. He turned back, firing wildly to buy his men time, but a massive claw swiped him, sending him crashing into a stone wall. Thap coughed up a mouthful of blood and slumped into unconsciousness.
As the giant alien advanced toward the center of the base, the survivors rushed to find Kin. "Lieutenant Thap! He's been taken down!" Kin turned pale, his hands trembling, but his love for Thap outweighed his terror. He grabbed medical supplies and ran headlong into the line of fire, racing toward where Thap lay broken in a pool of blood.
Back in the infirmary, Non kept pressing Jack for a way to kill the beast. "Youāve been researching this for a week! Tell me if thereās a way to kill it!" Jack just offered a sinister smile, his eyes fixed on the computer screen. "Everything is going according to plan, Non... I'm just waiting for my trump card to reveal its power."
At the scene of the carnage, Kin cradled Thapās bleeding body. Tears of desperation streamed down his cheeks. "Don't leave me, Thap! Please... you can't die!"
"Heh... itās just a flesh wound..." Thap forced a smile, though his face was deathly pale. "Iām sorry... I couldn't protect you."
"Stop talking like that!" Kin sobbed, leaning down to kiss the blood from his loverās lips. But at that very moment, a massive, agonizing cramp seized Kinās abdomen, and he let out a piercing scream!
Fluid gushed out along with blood and slime. Kin collapsed beside Thap, his body wracked by the most intense labor pains imaginable. "Thap... the serum didn't work... itās coming out!"
Thap mustered his last ounce of strength to steady Kin, assisting in the delivery amidst the battlefield. The babyās head began to crown, but to their shock, there was no purple slime or alien featuresāit looked like a perfectly normal, beautiful human infant. With one final, desperate push, the baby was born into Kinās arms.
The moment the infant touched the air, it floated upward. Its body grew rapidly like an illusion, transforming from an infant into a handsome young man in the blink of an eye. Radiant green energy wove itself around his body, forming a flowing, exquisite robe that draped over his strong and graceful frame.
Thap instinctively raised his gun, trembling with suspicion. "What are you?! What do you want!"
The young man looked at them both with eyes full of infinite compassion. "Don't be afraid... I am an alien... but I am also your son."
He felt all their pain and chaos through a psychic connection before ascending higher. "I know everything now... the anger, the hatred, and the meaning of 'love' that brought me into existence. I will end this..."
He turned toward the giant alien tearing through the camp and rocketed away like a shooting star. Thap and Kin stood stunned, witnessing their final hope born from their own bloodline.
The giant alien, trying to flee the camp, was suddenly stopped by a powerful beam of green light from the sky!
The young man floated above the beast, firing concentrated lasers from his palms. The alien let out a bone-chilling shriek that echoed across the mountains. The clash between purple and green energy shook the very earth, but it ended with the young manās victory, the giant creature falling lifeless to the ground.
As the dust settled, Thap and Kin limped over, stunned by the sight. The young man descended gracefully and pulled them into a tight embrace. Despite what he was, they knew in their hearts he was truly their son.
Thap looked at him with profound love and emotion. He reached out to gently stroke the boy's head. "From now on... your name is 'Ryu'."
Ryu smiled. The nightmare was over. Thap and Kin decided to leave the military and their rigid, cruel lives behind. They took Ryu away to start a quiet, warm, and happy family.
Jack continued to call Ryu in for monthly check-ups, helping to keep the secret of his alien powers hidden so he could live as a normal human. Despite the pressure of keeping his true identity a secret, Ryu lived a life filled with the love of Thap and Kin.
