Raiden was fond of nature, in a certain way,  he was part of it and contributed to it. "What a fantastic surprise," the man left his drumsticks on the counter to take a better look at the flowers she brought him because the smell was already strong enough for him to perceive from such a distance but, it would be a waste not to give them a proper glance. "If you don't mind, I'll keep both. The real ones for myself and the fake ones for the display." Allergies, Raiden wasn't sure how they affected each person, a good sign, probably, because if he didn't know, it meant he had never experienced it before. "Would you accept coffee as a thank you? Or lunch tomorrow?" He grinned.

His heart dropped in his heart. Harper had known for a long time that Yuqi didn't like him - it was obvious in the way she even looked at Minsung - but having it confirmed by her lips just drove the knife in harder. "I know," he sighed, turning away from her and burying his hands into his hoodie pockets.

Though he hadn’t actually been there at the moment of the crash, Jimin’s imagination has done a relentlessly good job recreating the scene while he dreams. “Have some confidence, dear. Watch, you just have to be careful is all.” Hera stood behind Yuqi and gently guided her hands in chopping the vegetables on the cutting board in front of them. After a moment and some careful instructions, Hera stepped to the side to keep an eye on her still. “Take your time, we’re not in a rush here, we have plenty of time.” Hera placed one of her hands on the demigoddess’ and corrected how she was holding the knife. “It’s all about practice really, the more you practice and if you take your time you’ll be a professional in no time!”

Adaline laughs at Yuqi’s words, looking over at the girl with a rather big smile on her face. “Now that doesn’t leave very many things for you to be trusted with, does it?” She says with the same laugh still audible in her voice, motioning at the ingredients for the food they were going to make together that Yuqi is now trying to get out from underneath of. 

“I would give you the job of doing the dishes but the water is hot and the knives are sharp, so that’d be out too.” She clicks her tongue and shakes her head as if she can’t believe her help has decided to not be helpful so early on into the process. “I guess there’s only one job left that you can do then...” She hums after a moment, turning to face Yuqi fully and sighing deeply as if she can’t imagine she will have to give this job to Yuqi.

    Her arms slide around him and then pin her to the warmth of her presence and for just a moment Heather halts. Who is this now? He can’t see from where he is because it’s come from behind but the person behind him feels small, buzzing with life and sweet. Were he not in the halls of the school he might give a louder reaction but as he is and was only a little startled before he calms again the professor only yelps a little before laughing.

   “My grading system isn’t that good,” he jokes with whoever is holding him, still unaware that it’s Yuqi who he knows well by now. “And if you’re looking for a way out of the upcoming exam, may I remind you that bribery is an academic crime?”

  He wriggles some to pry free of the hold enough to turn in it and see his hug attacker. When his eyes land on Yuqi, Heather grins wide. “Oh hello there Miss I Leave Cute Bentos but Don’t Stick Around For The Thank Yous, how are you today?”

"you are a literal baby,” he says with a hint of amusement in his voice, but he’s also definitely taking her serious, because he would never want her to feel like her words are not heard or her voice is not important.

“there’s a nine year age difference,” he adds after a moment, motioning between the both of them. “which isn’t necessarily an issue later on in life, but at this point in time you’re barely no longer a teenager and i’m very much past that stage in life. the power imbalance here would be horrible.”

he shouldn’t be this analytical, probably, he should speak in emotions, but the reality is that the only emotions he has about her are those a brother might have for his little sister.

“not to mention the fact that i am far from the kind of person you should ever want admiring you,” he adds after a moment. “let alone anything more than that.” he shakes his head a little, thinking of how utterly he is not the right kind of person for this young girl, considering his rather prickly nature and his tendency to just impulsively do whatever. it’d not be a good match.
