Did you know when it was built?

It is a vessel that has existed for thousands of years. It was used by various ancient civilizations, including Mesopotamian , Egyptian civilizations another group up of people to travel and migrate from one island to another.

A Reed boat, as we visualized is a means of transportation through waters but there is more to it. Unlike any water transportation, this boat has a distinct difference from other boats.Â

The common purpose of a normal ships or boats are merely for sailing, transporting and cargos and people . However, the Reed boat is more than what it seems.Â

The Reed boat was made out of bundles of reed grass assembled together to build a boat. It was strapped with tons of ivy plant branches that makes it a strong hold.Â

From what it’s made of, this boat has become a home to many microorganisms.Â

Yes, You read that right! 
 Insects, seeds of grass, molds and mushrooms dwells within and on the Reed boat.
On the bottom of the Reed boat, too, a school of small fishes swarm to benefit from eating edible organism attach to it. 
Seaweed, shellfish, and sea anemones grow on the bottom of these boat as well.

It’s a truly remarkable ecological phenomenon!Â

In other words, this boat has delivered a different version of a definition of a boat. 
It’s not just for humans to move around but
It was built to connect the diverse environment itself by moving various creatures not only from one island to another but also towards one continent to another.

The journey of the people and other organisms living within this has traveled far and wide.
