Received these beautiful commissions from @mounted-archer! Had commissioned her for some art of my cat Tinkerbell, who passed away in March, as well as my Final Fantasy XIV (cat) character, Wisp.
She captured Tinkerbell beautifully - I tear up looking at the little stretch and the wonderful expressiveness she captured. And she has done an amazing piece of Wisp, as well - every detail is perfect!
She also surprised me with a picture of the two together in another gorgeous piece! She was so great to work with, and I love these pieces so much- plewse consider commissioning her if you get a chance!

I dont have very much knowledge of dressage, nor any idea who this Shelley person is but I couldn't even finish that video....her bouncing around annoyed me so much. That horse is a saint and I loved the commentators slightly passive aggressive comments
Shelley Browning is an Adult Amateur competing at the I2 level on a confirmed international level Grand Prix horse. Her trainer is Jane Arrasmith of Iron Horse Ranch Dressage (I don’t know how long they’ve had a training relationship but I’d personally be ashamed if I felt comfortable allowing THAT person to ride an FEI level and claim me as their trainer). She’s clearly someone who cannot manage their emotions on a horse, can’t ride for shit, and bought themselves into the FEI levels.Axel Steiner is a gift and it’s unfortunate his commentary got cut on the video of her Friday test (the one she was eliminated for).Â

Y'all are gorgeous and you have my bow in this fight. Also, muscle atrophy is a BITCH; 5 years after knee surgery (2 weeks bed rest + ~2 years no real riding) and i'm STILL WEAK so they can just fly unto the sun mmkay. You doin great.

And honestly my atrophy wasn’t even that bad or noticeable, but I can feel it and my PT told me hole I would have to build up my strength in my left leg again. I remember when I begin riding again and I was terrified when I felt pain because I thought my leg was going to begin spasming again.Â
It’s incredibly frustrating to know I’m still building up that strength as well.Â

Hey friend, nice to meet you! There’s a mounted archery place near where I live, and I should really go to one of their events sometime! It seems so cool.
How do you even draw/paint dapples? Good Lord yours look amazing! Any tips? I usually use a medium-large airbrush pen with opacity flow.

The brush I use is custom, although unfortunately I can’t find the pack that it came from. It looks a little like a cookie, so it isn’t perfectly round and has like a hole or two in the middle of it which just adds a little bit of texture..
Basically I just make the brush the size I want the dapple, and then with pen pressure set to opacity only I kinda just start drawing them on really lightly. I start with the light dapples and then take a darker shade and somewhat outline them.
Keep in mind that dapples are actually organized somewhat into a pattern, and they don’t overlap. Use references!
I am trying to open a business and one of the products I want to produce/sell are custom browbands. Because browbands are not especially inexpensive, I want to know how much of what stock I should be buying (particularly upon start-up).
