مولد نبوي شريف مبارك Mawlid is the observance of the birthday of the Islamic prophet Muhammad which is celebrated often on the 12th day of Rabi' al-awwal, the third month in the Islamic calendar. In Tunisia we prepare the Assida which is the holiday’s signature dish. Assida consists of two layers of differently flavored and colored creams – a black cream, prepared with the Aleppo pine seeds, and a white pastry cream.
