For one thing it’s been all but confirmed Imaginae Himeko was called Motoko but what really threw me off was this

(To be less confusing to myself I’m just going to be referring to the past self of Imaginated Himeko as Motoko and original Himeko as Himeko)

It’s said in a way that you can’t tell whether Motoko says it or Himeko, which is relevant because this has wildly different connotations depending on who it is

Now i’m going to descend into firm crack theory territory over here because I know it’s probably Motoko in Himeko’s place but LISTEN

(In order, this is the end credits if you stay on the space station then the end credits at the end of 2.2)

In both of these screenshots, it says Himeko as Himeko, not ? As Himeko and not Motoko as Himeko, which isn’t much in the way of evidence but I digress

With the amount of twists in the land of Elation that have already happened, I wouldn’t put it past Hoyo to spin this on us too (this game has given me trust issues).It’s more of a question of how on earth would you go about possessing an Imaginae or transferring the weathering curse and if Himeko (or Motoko if she transferred it to herself somehow) would go through it.

This could also help explain why Himeko’s SP looks like a younger Himeko and Starblazer and also why Motoko has the weathering curse on her when she first forms as the Himeko we know

Evidence against this:

Himeko says something in the same voice I mentioned previously to Motoko and in what is likely her voice line in the 4.4 trailer so this whole theory has probably fallen apart before it even began

Which is probably talking about the weathering curse

And then there’s also this scene from the 4.3 trailer that didn’t show up for the main quest (but if we’ve learned anything from Penaconny and Amphoreus it’s probably incredibly relevant) that could support the character story or could be saying that it is Himeko watching through Motoko
