To everyone who feels discouraged from their work because it doesnβt get traction/ it feels like no one cares about it, or it's always overshadowed by someone else's work which is much better; I really get it. It's an incredibly human feeling to want someone else to look at and love what you love, to share your passion for that thing and for it to be recognized.
So for everyone out there whose hard work goes unnoticed, whose creations with much love and passion put into them aren't seen; I think what you're doing is beautiful. I want to just be unashamedly corny about this, because it feels true! Worldbuilding, OCs, stories... you've made a universe, in a way. And thanks to you they now exist, even to an audience of no one, that story will still ring out somewhere.
For me, the things I create are all parts of me; and when I make them, I'm putting little crystals with bits of me in them on the wall. And during the creation of them I felt happy! And now those stories exist, the people in those worlds exist, those creations like little wonderful windows to the adventures and universes in my head. If it weren't for that process, those character's stories would never be told. I wouldn't have felt that happiness when peeping through those little windows. So I think that means something. I think all those creations mean something.
For all the times your work went unnoticed or unthanked; thank you for doing what you do. Thank you for telling the stories that no one else can tell. I think your stories would thank you too, for telling them. :]
