Different Perspective On New Year’s Resolutions
Hello, Eagles. How is everybody doing? I pray you're doing well. It's Mother Eagle here. Happy December. I know you're having a good time, and it's always nice to see you. I hope you had a wonderful year, I hope you accomplished a few of the things you want, and welcome to all the new eagles in our Eagles family. If you haven't heard from me or communicated with me, I'm always open to your questions. I do my best to respond to them… (Hi, welcome!)…and you can always join our coaching group, Eagles Coaching on mentorship. All our videos are always kept in our archive on mothereagle.net, and our courses, so you can go there and learn as much as you want. Yes, our book was launched, so you're open to go get it. (Hi, Vicky, you're welcome! Tell me where you're watching from.) Today I wanted to give a different perspective on New Year's resolution. Many weeks ago, while I was in Uganda on vacation, so we had a good time, got to meet most of the eagles, while I was launching the book, Live Like a King without Going Broke, but one of the things that came to me ... Because when you're relaxed, you start thinking about all these things you're going to do next year, right. I was wondering, first of all, the statistics that show that we give up on our goals within three weeks of the new year is horrendous. (Hi!) I always wonder, why do we set goals and not accomplish them? Then, I figured, why do we even have to wait for the new year? Why not start now, why not start today, you know? So, I guess the topic for today is, create a new year every time you want to start something new. You don't have to wait for the whole of 12 months. You can always start and create that environment of newness, of beginning, at any time in the month. You don't have to wait, you see? So many of you, we still have almost three weeks within this month. You don't have to wait until January. You can start today if there's something you want to work on for the next season, and if and when we go to 2019, you can pick any time of the year and season to start something new and create something. The whole point of the new year, new perspective, I guess, we take on everybody's energy of excitement, of the newness, so we have that momentum of the community, but then the momentum dwindles off. We cannot be waiting for the community momentum to get personal things accomplished. Otherwise, you're going to wait for a long, long, long time. So what you do now is, what do you want to accomplish, when do you want to start, what kind of systems do need, what kind of financial support do you need, what kind of accountability partners do you need? Put all those things in place, start thinking about them. Write them down. Then, you choose a day, any date, and start. Just choose any date, because when we start working on ourselves based on other people's momentum, when they give up, we tend to give up, too. But, your dream, your vision, your path, many times has nothing to do with your neighbors. Your thing is your thing, so you have to commit to your journey, and have to commit to the process. Actually, I just recorded a video for the Eagles Coaching where I'm encouraging them to commit to the process, and I tell you, too, commit to your process. Whatever you choose to do, commit to it in this season. (Hi, Samuel, you're welcome!) Yeah, so the new perspective is start today, start now. New beginnings can be any time. Well, as always, this is Mother Eagle. I love you guys. Send me all your questions, I'll do my best to respond, and all the videos and archives are on mothereagle.net, and our courses. All right, I'll see you soon. For those of you who need the book, the information will be below this video. You can find the book in some few places in Kampala. All right, talk to you soon.
