He's weird.

But he won't hurt anyone. He tries to protect the city he's in, actually as as a hero of the night actually!

Red orbs floated from up high. A black feather drifts to the ground. A gust of wind. The sound of claws on metal. Moth, in his true form, perched on the underside of the bridge and watched normal humans pass by in a hurry going here or there. No one noticed him or paid him any mind and he liked it that way. His human form left his wings feeling cramped. He felt a yearning to take off, so he spread his wings and took flight.

Michael never knew his family or where he came from. He's spent his entire childhood in an orphanage, where he was left as an infant. From early on in his life he figured out he was different than other people. Something was off. After he scared another child with an accidental transformation wings and was struck by caretakers for his 'prank', Michael realized something was wrong. Yet he was intrigued. 

From then on he tried to test things out when he had moments alone. He always found more energy in the silence of the night, allowing him the perfect opportunity to test, explore, and discover.

He could turn into a winged creature with moth like features and glowing red eyes. His appearance looked like that of the cypid known as the mothman. While keeping his true nature a secret he did choose to pick up the nickname of Moth, which he used more often the older he got.

His control was slowly mastered as he grew older, and he remained secretive of his abilities scared of the outcome if anyone were to find out. In his adulthood, he works at the very orphanage he was raised in helping to tend for the new generation of children in need. 

He has a special place in his heart for kids without anyone and a desire to help mentor and guide the lost children of the world. As a bonus, he gains employment and a place to live.

On the side, he is working hard to research and uncover anything he can about what he is, and if there's anyone else like him in some way. Through deep digging, he found rumors of the well-known cryptid known as Mothman being seen all over the world not just in the most well-known location, as well as urban legends of this creature being able to take human form.
