Mostly Straight
I recently discovered the term “mostly straight”. They are attributing it to millennial men, but I relate even at an older age. This is exactly the term for me. Not gay. Not bi. Mostly Straight.
There is a somewhat new book about this and it has been covered widely online (google it if you want to know more). This is like someone turned on a light. As while I accepted my bi feelings, that too did not feel like the right definition of me.
Society has too many hang ups about this whole topic. Many gays have said to me that bi is a transition thing, it is not real. What? A group who has worked so hard to acceptance say this?
I have spent years thinking about myself and what I want and who I am. I understand me better now.
Too bad “mostly straight” was not a label 35 years ago. I can get behind this one and feel whole.
Still have to keep it to myself. But it makes me smile. This is me.
