A really shit take I have seen online is that Jax doesn't work as a cautionary tale because there isn't a version of hers in the circus that manages to work their issues and live happily with their identity.
Except that isn't true. Zooble is right there, also dealing with issues of body dysmorphia and identity, except that Zooble works through their shit by opening to others. Zooble is what a healthy version of Jax could have been.
Jax is a great cautionary tale of someone who despite being given many chances, keeps rejecting to work on themselves until it causes their own destruction.
I am glad Jax abstracted.
