Main traits: hedonist, magnanimous, steadfast

Description: A scholar that came to the neath curious about the vake. They love the neath’s strange creatures, especially devils and rubberies. They take their time with things (they just went to the cave of nadir and they have two maxed out stats + they're a tier 2 person of some importance,, Also only just got the dock unions plot wrapped up like a month ago. But they're doing their best.) Currently pursuing their newly found ambition of their Heart’s Desire (after forgetting most of the things they learned about the vake,) laying the tracks for a railway to hell, and beginning to work with the youthful naturalist. Also dating Milton, I hc that anyway.

Priscilla Greaves | the minacous beguiler | she/her, maybe they | Alt account, almost a PoSI, also a LI for Johannesse maybe? I made her as a foil to them but I don’t think their relationship would actually last all that long. I think they would end up more as friends or enemies with benefits tbh

Main traits: ruthless, heartless, austere

Description: A thief who came down below after one too many criminal outings gone awry. Also, there was the promise of a diamond the size of a cow, and what better place to start a new life than a cave miles underground? She would usually play the femme fatale / damsel in distress (with the intent to cause a distraction) in her little group of miscreants on the surface, so she probably uses those skills a lot still. If she's being nice to you, she wants something from you, and you should be worried. Otherwise her demeanor would be best described as 'cold and short-tempered.'

Mordecai Wendell | the reclusive apostate | he/they/it | Seeking Alt, also inspired from a particularly rough go of a sunless sea playthru

Main traits: magnanimous, melancholy, subtle

Description: A former clergyman who got caught up in a large scandal that resulted in him leaving the church. He lost his lover and child (the cause of said scandal) to a mysterious and seemingly targeted murder, the likes of which then brought him to the Neath. While giving into the temptations of wrath, a certain name also starts to call to him. Kind of a mix between a pathetic wet cat and a golden retriever boyfriend.

Titus (Titivillus) | the bespectacled hunter | possibly a BaL character? and also, a devil

I had Johannesse tutor a devil in Mahogany Hall and I feel like they'd keep in touch,,, I also saw someone in the discord mention playing thru LF as a devil + ive seen some other devil characters around so I might play with that. (Also I love FL's community,,, there's already a Titivillus account. If you don't recognize, the namesake is a demon who would cause errors in the works of scholars / scribes n i think that would be a cute name to recommend / offer to a devil who's like. still up and coming,,, needs an alias,,, yk. something like that.) Maybe after I finish seeking w/ mort i'll give him an account, but rn having 3 active accounts is a lot lmao. But he's in my brain and probably like,,, training further in secret to be as human-like as possible.

Isham Howlett | the un-retired captain | he/him

fella who's been down in the neath for a while. Grew up as an urchin. Retired after finding his father's bones (finally) and then temporarily un-retired to help newer ship captains. Knows a lot about the zee, has a lot of respect for it. Very superstitious. Has an adopted nephew. Lives in a nice house out in the marshes near the watchmaker's hill lighthouse. Will captain your ship but what he says goes. Don't argue w/ him

Johannesse also has a crew, some of them have names! (Most of them come from my various attempts at sunless sea, I thought it would be fun to develop that way.) Mordecai is / was part of their crew, as he originated in sunless sea. Also Isham (mentioned above, a begrudgingly un-retired zee captain, and functionally the actual captain of the crew bc. Johannesse would not be confident enough to run a whole ship tbh), twins Charon and Costas (The latter of whom is soulless, but insists that his soul is very much still his, it’s just being kept safe with a deviless on mt. palmerston), and Mickey (who I have not developed in the slightest, aside from deciding that he's hot-headed.) There’s probably more crew than that but yk.
