Jacques Philippe Grattepain-Morizot (the poor man in charge of Lafayette’s finances) to Mlle du Motier (Lafayette’s aunt), March 25, 1780. The Marquis was headed back to America, this time without disguise–with Paris praying for his safe return and the United States eagerly awaiting his arrival.

This bow was left on top of a car and then driven over multiple times.
All new silver and pearl parts and the ebony was replaced only where necessary. I was not the only one to work on this bow, but I feel good to have contributed to the restoration.
