More messy practice. This time trying my hand at none other than Tevildo, Prince of Cats. Kitty Proto-Sauron is just too cute not to spend time with.
He's still an utter mess, and I am not happy with the fur, but he's my mess.
Reunited
After two long ages, a familiar glow is back and Melkor can unfreeze a little. Mairon has returned to him.
I started painting this while watching Integrity (Artemis II Mission) come back to Earth and I am now finally happy with this painting.
The Seduction of Mairon
This painting is heavily inspired by the Japanese legends about the Kuchisake-onna.
Melkor prowling around Almaren, creeping up on unsuspecting Maiar. And then he meets Mairon.
I have been wanting to paint an eldritch Melkor for a while. Well inspiration finally hit me today and this happened. I do not know if it is finished yet, but I like it.

So I have been carrying around this thought about The Harrowing by @chthonion concerning all the manual domestic chores those wonderful drama Elves have to do: Why doesn't Fëanáro make himself really useful and build houshold appliances?
So I doodled down this sketch of him proudly presenting a washing machine he built, maybe even with the help of Tyelpë and Annatar.
He could even come up with three "Silmaril" model appliances, like a dishwasher and a vacuum cleaner on top of the washing machine.
Those could be used to soften the public blow, that the Fëanorians made it back out of the void, and are trying their very best to not be a public menace anymore.
Sulking in the Snow

Thank you so much again for that belated Silm Stocking. That story of Melkor sitting outside in the snow outside of Utumno, contemplating his place in the world, and relation to the other Vala. Sometimes, even Melkor wants to belong.
Your writing evoked such a vivid image of the giant Dork Lord of Arda languishing in the snow with mountains as his furniture. And then Mairon comes out to rouse him. Rattled, that he has to reminded right now to tend to those governing duties that come with the package of being a dark lord.
But what is governance to an eldritch being like Melkor? And then he has to see insults that Varda has written for him to see in the stars.
