spent all night stuck on a coding problem that I was staying up late to solve and the (correct) answer came to me in a dream when i gave up and slept so the moral of the story is sleep is good

One of my favorite things about old movies is when they just. End. No real conclusion, no big thought into "how do we wrap this alll up?" it's just over. The monster dies and the credits just start rolling.

Tbh I think "quiet quitting" is more than just not going above and beyond. People are talking shit because it shouldn't be a big deal that you're only performing the job description, but I definitely quiet quit my job a while ago and just didn't have a term for it. I quit trying. I do the bare minimum with little to no effort. I gave up trying to improve anything for myself or my coworkers. I compare this to working the same role at a different company a year ago and it's night and day- I still wasn't going above and beyond, but I enjoyed being there and putting effort into my role gave me satisfaction so the quality of my work was better.
