Doing some Work and some work today on Juneteenth. I’m not going to sit here and act like I didn’t just learn what Juneteenth was until a few years ago. What we didn’t know in the past doesn’t matter, what we know now, what we learn, and what we choose to do with that knowledge is what matters. I will tell you, I have been guided not to share a photo of the Work I’m doing today, but I did share a couple elements here. I will say this: 1. Angrily calling the office of a U.S. senator is a great way to raise a lot of magical energy quickly. 2. “Remove all obstacles to the Emmitt Till Anti-Lynching Bill” is a chant that rolls easily off the tongue. I believe in human rights. The first Juneteenth was in 1865 to celebrate the end of slavery, but before anyone pats themselves on the back, I was born in 1965, and we have since flown to space regularly, have computers in our pockets, and lynching black people is not only still happening, but the federal government is being held up by one senator to act on this making it a federal crime.
