Anyway what you're seeing here is that, yes, Kai has a saddle that he uses to connect the prosthetic to. The little glowing yellow things around Kai's leg? They're supposed to represent the straps that Kai fastens around his thigh to connect him to Lloyd's prosthetic (but i grew lazy and did not draw them in properly lmao)
Kai's thigh would be strapped to the radioulnar portion of the prosthetic, and the "stirrup" Kai's foot rests in is bolted into this sliding piston in the carpal portion of the prosthetic (which i also did not draw (forgot to) so you'll have to imagine it).
The main idea behind the self-regulating pistons is actually based on a real-life phenomenon called the perching reflex, which is found in birds! A series of "flexor tendons" are attached from the bird's femur and stretch all the way down to the back of the leg and the underside of the toes. When the bird extends its legs, the toes extend as well because the tendons relax; and when the the bird flexes its legs, the toes curl up because now the tendon is stretched around the bones and prevent free movement. This is actually how birds can sit in trees and sleep all night without falling.

Similar thing is happening with the prosthetic, but instead of tendons it's pistons. When Kai flexes his leg, his thigh draws up the upper portion of the prosthetic and his flexing ankle (dorsiflexion) curls up the prosthetic's fingers, so to speak; and when Kai straightens his leg, his thigh pushes the upper portion downward, and his foot extension (plantarflexion) also extends the fingers.
I know this sounds like an absolute workout for Kai, and it is, and you may think by the time he comes back after numerous test flights everyone is very aware of his bulging quads, but it's not that obvious; it's like riding bicycle, if you think about. a really long bicycle. with one leg. while flying in the air. It's pretty much the same thing.
TLDR: there is a saddle that connects to the prosthetic. Kai sits on the saddle and uses his leg to adjust Lloyd’s prosthetic

Little question about player and the relationships between humans grunts and employers
Are humans just overall smarter than grunts or is reader just this genius mastermind? How about employers? They did manage to get player into their world, that time in the fanfic about the boys seeing the player for the first time deimos, the TECH guy, complained about how dificult employer technology was, is it actually just a standard PC like the one player uses?
Also about the grunts, can player just make an offhanded comment about some common human knowledge and they just go
"BRO?!?!?!?!???!!?!? WHAT"
Would grunts regarded as really really smart just, be completly floored by what player knows? Maybe as project nexus happend somewhere before madness 5, would they just know some things about the future or possibly change it?

Well, according to Krinkels, the only education that really exists in Nevada at the time of Madness is the Sleepwalker Program. However, before the fall (and Sheriff turning on the improbability drive) there must've been some form of education since the grunts from then know how to read/write. Although I'd consider the most common type of education to be the more base-level kind cause scientists with doctorates like Hoff and Jeb seem pretty rare. And this is only applicable to G01s and G02s, which don't make up a lot of the population anyway. Any generations afterward are taught by the Nexus if at all, which means that humans would be smarter than at least 85% of the grunt population by default. Plus I'd imagine human educations are far more varied compared to Nevadans'. The Player themselves would probably be well-versed in all things technical on their end too, specifically when it comes to their own equipment (like for streaming and stuff), which makes them a genius by grunt standards.

As for the Employers, their tech is extremely advanced, but also a lot more complicated than it needs to be. Honestly the machines they use to do stuff regarding you are prototypes and have yet to be streamlined (cause why would the Auditor waste his time improving something that already works when he could be observing you instead?). In terms of how it relates to the Player's PC, it has a couple similarities, but it has an entirely different purpose so they would be far and few in between. The problem with trying to figure out their technology comes from how unknown it is (a lack of other references to use as guides especially) and also because they can be very convoluted in design.
Given the fact that the Player is probably one of the smartest people in Nevada, they could totally just make a normal remark and have grunts freak out from how intelligent they are lmao. Like you know so much about physics, psychology, biology, sociology, just everything that Nevadans are just completely lost on. Even the smarter grunts like Doc would be stunned about what you know. (Atoms? Trigonometry and algebra? Where did you learn all of this??)
Regarding the timeline, the Player would totally know about what happens in the future (at least if they've watched the series 😅) so I can see them trying to change some things. Though that would also depend on how willing they would be to do that (cause change might make things worse too). And there's the other issue of how The Machine™ would react to these changes too, which could be another problem entirely.

After Vashti was turned down for the last time, she finally decides to kidnap him but since he is not of her domain he can't truly stay, stealing away a deity just isn't permitted(any lower beings are fair game tho). The other party must either go willingly or the ruler of their domain allows it. His parents would soon scramble to get him back and they're sure as hell not letting her take away their son so she thought of a loophole.
I'm not sure exactly how exactly the rules work because I quite literally thought of it on the spot (except the fruit bit, I intended that from the start) but yeah there is a way to become a citizen of her domain and every ruler god also has it as a way to fully accept outsiders. Like her dialogue says, Koshin did a wager with her and ate food from her realm but he got tricked into it. I feel like he was vaguely warned by an inhabitant of her ways but ultimately it didn't work out. Vashti purposefully got a rise out of him by claiming that since everything essentially came from her as the creator of the world, nature gods or really any god don't have much value since she can technically manage everything herself (she actually did that with Radja in the beginning but it proved to be a hassle) and at this point in time she probably half meant it. Ofcourse this pissed him off so to prove himself, she suggested a little wager/challenge about something that involves the creation of plants. He would actually win this but since he gave it his all he became very tired and she saw her chance and offered him a fruit from her domain which he ate. That ultimately made him into a citizen which means she officially rules over him and can do whatever she wants to him, you know how the rest of this plays out...

Hello! Welcome to the blog Anon, I'm very glad you love the au. :D ❤️ To answer your question, yes, the Employers do know that they're in a game. Granted, they don't actually have video games in Nevada so they aren't fully aware of everything surrounding how their world connects with yours, but they know that Nevada is like a small level simulation of sorts (at least to you). It's why they know about a consistent "story" that they need to change. (That they can't really rely on anymore with all of their meddling and the other characters becoming self-aware themselves - something they overlooked the possibility of. Oops.) It's also how the Auditor chose to "add" himself to your list of accessible characters, by making it appear as though his sudden presence was just a new expansion for your "game". So essentially, they do know that they're in a game but they don't understand that concept completely, so they just accept it at face value and move on. They're more focused on you than trying to discern the exact nature of their world anyways.
However, they are completely unaware of how their world is originally an animated series, likely due to the lack of input the Player would have in their decisions there. That and the fact that the games happen before the Auditor is introduced in the animations' timeline anyway.
(Well, unless you count the rewinds of certain events with each watch of an episode, or the possibility of the characters feeling the Player's eyes on them during that time. But that's just another thing to explore with the au, I suppose.)
