~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And here's a simple calculation:
Total Number of Students:
5 years (Year 1 to Year 5)
5 classes (A-1 to A-E, B-1 to B-E...) per years
5 dorms
Each class = 30 to 45 students
To find a range:
Minimum: 5 years Ă— 5 classes Ă— 30 students = 750 students
Maximum: 5 years Ă— 5 classes Ă— 45 students = 1,125 students
So, Fablewood Academy has 750–1,125 students total.
Teacher Workload & Schedule:
Assumptions for a Normal Teacher Day:
Teaching hours: ~6 hours/day (8am–5pm with lunch + some prep/grading time)
Teaching days: 5 days/week = 30 hours of potential teaching time per teacher
Classes take ~1h or ~2h blocks (most likely 1h periods unless noted some are 2h back-to-back)
How Many Total Class Groups?
There is 25 separate class groups:
Years 1-A to 1-E
Years 2-A to 2-E
...
Years 5-A to 5-E = 5 years Ă— 5 classes = 25 class groups
Each of these groups needs each subject taught to them, according to the schedule.
Breakdown of Whether Each Teacher Can Handle It Alone:
Let’s calculate it per subject:
1. Lorecraft – 2h per week
25 classes Ă— 2h = 50 hours/week
✅ NEEDS HELP. Liora Scheh cannot handle 50 hours a week alone. He’d need at least 2 other Lorecraft teachers, so 3 total is sustainable (~16–17h each).
2. Fairmagic (Magic Practice) – 4h per week
25 classes Ă— 4h = 100 hours/week
🚨 URGENT: Needs a team. Ozwell Puzzlereign would collapse. The school need at least 4–5 Fairmagic instructors (100 ÷ 5 = 20h/week per teacher).
3. Mythic Combat – 2h (following hours, so one block)
25 classes Ă— 2h = 50 hours/week
🚫 Needs help. One teacher (Thorne Evenshade) isn’t enough. At least 2 teachers needed, possibly 3 to allow flexibility.
4. Alchemy & Potionmaking – 3h/week
25 classes Ă— 3h = 75 hours/week
💥 Definitely needs help. Neige Snowveil should have at least 2–3 assistants/teachers total.
5. Transformation Arts – 2h/week
25 Ă— 2 = 50 hours/week
âž• Needs help. Hans Wilderkin would need at least 2 colleagues.
6. Astronomy & Prophecy – 1h/week
25 Ă— 1 = 25 hours/week
🌓 Possibly okay. Beaumont Nocturne could manage alone.
7. Musical Resonance – 1h/week
25 Ă— 1 = 25 hours/week
🎶 Manageable. Lino Minuet could handle this solo.
8. Beastcraft – 2h/week
25 Ă— 2 = 50 hours/week
🦉 Needs 2–3 teachers total.
9. Tactician’s Lab – 2h/week
25 Ă— 2 = 50 hours/week
♟️ Needs 2–3 teachers.
10. Magic Application & Arte Development – 2h/week
25 Ă— 2 = 50 hours/week
🔧 Needs help — at least 2–3 teachers.
11. Ancient Curses – 3h/week
25 Ă— 3 = 75 hours/week
đź’€ Mordain Grimm absolutely cannot do this alone. Needs 3 teachers minimum.
12. Runic Engineering – 2h/week
25 Ă— 2 = 50 hours/week
🔣 Needs help. 2–3 teachers.
13. PE (Physical Ed.) – 2h following (1 block) per week
25 Ă— 2 = 50 hours/week
đź’Ş Grizz needs 2 assistants minimum.
14. Flying Arts – 2h (block)
25 Ă— 2 = 50 hours/week
🕊️ Zephyr Gale needs help. 2–3 flying instructors.
15. Aquatic Mastery – 2h block/week
25 Ă— 2 = 50 hours/week
🌊 Merrick Tideborn can’t do it solo. Needs 2 others.
16. Art – 1h/week
25 Ă— 1 = 25 hours/week
🎨 Caspar Dorne might be able to manage this solo.
17. Maths – 2h/week
25 Ă— 2 = 50 hours/week
âž• Mikhail Sabirsky needs 2 more teachers.
So my instinct is right — there are not enough teachers for the number of classes.
I have 25 class groups, and most subjects are 2–4 hours/week per group. Any subject over 25 total hours/week should have more than one teacher.
Now... should I create all thoses teachers or just mention there is more?
(Now imagine NRC that have only 3 teachers....)
