Hanáčka wedding in the region of Moravia, Czechia
"Weddings in this region usually lasted from three days to a week, depending on the wealth of the bride's and groom's families. Celebrations were prepared for and lasted about a week beforehand. These weddings offered wealthy Haná peasants a perfect opportunity to show off in front of the entire village. On a personal level, the ceremony marked a transition: a girl became a woman, and a young man became a man; a change that was also reflected in their clothing. After the wedding, they were no longer permitted to wear the garments they had worn as unmarried individuals. To preserve this ancient tradition, local folklore groups, including the Přerov Haná group, occasionally perform reenactments of a traditional Haná wedding."

A South African, three Americans, two Czechs, a Briton, a Tanzanian, a Peruvian, a Netherlander, and a German walk into a coffee shop... . They’re all apart of the (Moravian) Unity Youth Heritage tour. . I took some of the Unity youth to the Liberty Arts Coffee House for a quick visit today during free time. It and the emerging ministry model of Come & Worship (which I shared some about with them) seemed to have made a good impression on our international young people. Some also enjoyed the same coffee our Come & Worship attendees enjoy every Sunday. 🙂 . This, along with sharing with some of the same people the Laurel Ridge Northern, Western, Eastern overlooks and the Green Cathedral, have been some of the highlights of my weekend. . You begin to realize how important the things in your life are when you get to share them with special people who have never experienced or seen those things before. . . . . . . . #MoravianChurch #MoravianMinistry #Moravians #Moravian #UnityYouthTour #Church #InstaChurch #WSNC #UnitasFratrum #Coffee (at Liberty Arts Coffee House)
