The free iOS and Android app “Pokémon Go” has become an overnight sensation. The game, featuring the popular original Nintendo characters from the late nineties, is massively popular with millennials. “Go” utilizes augmented reality, which involves overlaying the game’s artificial world on top of the real world (think like Google Maps.) Playing the game requires going outside and it encourages exploration, making many public locations and historical landmarks “Poké Stops” and “Gyms.” These are locations players interact with, and as such, could bring new visitors to your church’s doorstep!
