seth in general was a very hectic man, from the caffeine induced thoughts in his head, to his humor filled personality, there was just a lot of him going on in any given time. and with being deep into the playoffs, he was a lot even more so, coming home after practices with far more energy than even you were used to.

not like it was bad of course, but you did think he needed to slow down approximately a thousand miles an hour and just chill for a moment. literally he needed to go and smell the roses, a cute little post dinner walk in downtown raleigh to wind down for the night was much needed.

strolling leisurely through the sunset lit streets you found your shoulder bumping into seth's more often than not, your brain going on auto-pilot anytime you were with him, hazily feeling his deft fingers brush against yours as your arms swung in sync.

you were talking about some project at work when seth finally came to and linked his fingers through yours, his warm calloused hand sliding against your smooth palm- firmly joining you with him as he childishly swung your connected hands in a joyful gait.

"ok you sappy goof." you teased, a smile radiating across your face and an equally as blinding one mirrored on seth's as he led the both of you to a little splash pad. a few families were scattered across the area, but seth was marching over to a little elevated path off the pavement were the water would come out in arches and you could walk under it on the pathway. you knew that scheming smile on his face from miles away.

as soon as seth stepped onto the platform you immediately tightened your grip on his hand, not wanting him to slip and fall on accident. you didn't need all of carolina coming for your neck if something happened to him, god forbid on a toddler filled splash pad right before the conference finals no less.

and for a few moments seth was at peace, no rambling words tumbling out of his mouth, just childlike giggles escaping every time he dodged the squirt of a little arch of water, tugging your arm ever so gently with him as he moved out of the way.

he looked down at you from his, albeit small, perch doe eyes pleading you to join him on his little real-life mini game adventure. and you obliged, maneuvering your hands so you were holding his behind his back as he stealthy made it to the end of the walkway without getting hit by a stream of water.

"I think I'm good at this whole dodging thing babe" he grinned.

"I don't think you're supposed to dodge them, you're supposed to get wet, it's a splash pad, babe." you sassed back, you mouth then dropping into a small 'o' as seth got hit smack in the middle of his face with a squirt of water.

a snort escaped your chest, quickly succumbing to the laughter as he wiped away the water, "not funny." seth whined, the tugging at your hand and using the back of it to wipe off the rest of the wettness.
