Honestly, I prefer the acting in the 1995 adaptation because I feel like it’s closer to what I imagine when I read the book. I like both the 2005 and the 1995 versions, but I think the 1995 one captures the humor of the novel better, where the 2005 one focuses more on the love story.
i totally agree that the 1995 one has more of the humor in the 2005 its def more dramatique .... i dont feel the same ab the performances but i do think that jennifer ehle and collin firth do a great job tho

My parents were all about the research when I was younger, so yeah, I’ve had a lot of different perspectives. I come from an intensely religious extended family (Catholic, Protestant, and Buddhist; my dad is an atheist and my mom is agnostic) but I’ve never really believed in an after life. It makes things hard sometimes (I’ve had a lot of friends die this year) but I think that is the way with most religions.
First of all, I’m so sorry to hear that! I hope you’re still kinda coping, buddy. <:I
Well, for me it’s hard to understand that people don’t believe there’s more than this life. Because there’s just, unrelated to what religion i belong to and what it teaches, a deep conviction inside of me that people are more than just a body and a brain. As early as i can remember i believed that people have immortal souls. that the essence of who they are isn’t physical. it’s just the way i expirience people. i can’t help but feel that they have something inside of them that’s greater than our ordinary little lives. i’m sorry, it’s very hard to express.

For me, it has always been (as an agnostic atheist) that people have been critical and sometimes downright abusive of my opinions. I don’t want to focus on death very much but I say that when you die you kinda just decompose and become one with nature as, like, mulch or whatever, but whenever I talk about it to my christian friends they act like I’ve made a personal attack against them. That is, in my experience, why I’m uncomfortable talking about it.
hmm I can understand that. For many religion is a touchy-feely subject they easily feel offended about (for whatever reason?).
And did you ever research religions, different believes and scientific arguments to come to your conclusion or was that always your way of seeing things?
This week with Moorea and her family has certainly been an adventure!
As she lives very close to the mountains we decided to go hiking at the Flat Irons in Boulder Colorado. Â It was raining a bit, so Moorea was justifiably worried about my fur, but it cleared up enough to see the mountains and enjoy Chautaqua Park. Â William would have enjoyed the tea we had afterward at the Russian Tea House and Lizzie would have exclaimed "What is tea compared to rocks and mountains?"
We went to see the new Star Trek movie with Moorea's friend Megan and I discovered that the acting skills of Benedict Cumberbatch quite surpassed my pre-judgements about Hollywood actors.
Speaking of actors and actresses, Moorea is a singer and actress. Â She sang in a recital which I was delighted to attend and also went to work at a comedy club, leaving me with her vast book collection to entertain me. Â Lizzie would have delighted to know she owns Tolstoy by the droves.
We watch many movies during my visit, such as one titled Pride and Prejudice. Â I was unfamiliar with the work, but the film starred Laurence Olivier, so it was bound to be good (if not a little silly).
I'm very excited for what my new travels will bring me. I've learned so much on my journey already.
Hopefully this new insight will impress a certain rabbit with fine eyes.
Off to the next adventure!

Thanks again to our host in Colorado! Unfortunately she is not responding to emails and her tumblr has been disabled so I was not able to get any photos of bearcy's time in the rocky mountains, but I'm glad he got to experience the beautiful state.Â
