Cover story: "Uh...came looking for a missing friend...?"

Born in a neglectful family. They were attacked by a coven one day and asked to join as a vampire instead of running in fear, as they wanted a place to belong. After becoming a fledgling, they traveled with their coven across the continent. However, an army eventually rose to counter them, and the entire coven was staked save for Ariael. They went a little insane over it and sought to turn as many humans as possible to regrow the coven. Oakhurst was their last attempt to do so before the townsfolk began uprising staked them(in the shoulder, not the chest). With such an injury, the coven scattering, and the humans dying from battle, Ariael entered dormancy to heal both the mental and physical wounds, waking when people started approaching the land again.

Pretty much delusional and monophobic. Has a very hard time blending in and frankly kind of doesn't have the ability to comprehend how to(at stage 1, at least).

Coven-vampires=empty coven=lonely. Coven+vampires=full coven=not lonely.

Reasoning with them is an exercise in futility(at stage 1), would you reason with a storm to not blow through?

Crim!Ari: Stage 3 is based off of Madam Ravendream’s outfit, really emulating that sorcerer/witch of the night aesthetic that the townsfolk love to latch onto as evidence that the creepy apothecary needs to be kicked out lmao. They wouldn’t turn into a vamp early on bc strategically its better to keep a blood bag around on the vamp side so theyd only get turned in an emergency or if a fledgling accidentally did it while feeding. Ironically, since vampirism enhances emotions and they have severely numbed feelings, they actually feel more alive and happy as a vampire than they did as a human. They also constantly felt hungry(psychological) but had no actual way to solve it, whereas as a vamp their hunger for blood is physical so it’s actually solvable. This is also why theyre pretty slow to reach stage 3 and frequently go down levels due to being so used to tuning out the feeling of being hungry that they just. Forget.

Burg!Ari: Stage 3 dress was a present from their sire, it was what they wore in their prime. Stage 1 outfit is mourning garb. They would try to blend in for about 3 days, after which everyone understandably outs them as Not Normal, and they speedrun their way to stage 3. At stage 3 they’re actually more stable and actually open to conversation. They are very good at drawing memories and deciphering them from blood, even by vampire standards, and the memories of others seem to help them maintain lucidity. They also paint, and especially enjoy painting their coven, as vampires can’t use mirrors and it’s a good way for the others to know what they look like. Very willing to give up food/blood/let fledglings siphon from them over feeding themselves, the good of the coven comes first.

Both Crimson and Burgundy like singing as they move through the forest or when they hunt, which has the side effect of creeping out any humans that go near the woods(especially once they can go invisible and turn into a bat).
