❝   GETTING DRESSED   ,   ❞      she answered   ,   her voice too light   &   too casual.   she kept her gaze forward as she shuffled through the wooden dresser   ,   trying to find something to go with the gray turtle neck sitting on her bed.   blonde hair pinned up in a messy bun   &   dark circles hiding behind her glasses   ,   the lady ignored the worried tone that came from her husband’s words   &   continued to rummage through the drawer before settling on a pair of black leggings.

      it had only been a day since they had left demon’s run.   with amy   &   rory   (   &   everyone else the doctor had picked up on his    “   rescue mission   ”   )   safe in river’s   (   melody’s   ?   what should she call the mysterious woman who they now knew to be their best friends’ daughter   ———   their best friends’ daughter who she   &   her husband had both kissed   ———   ?   )   hands   ,   the two time lords had ran away from the battle scene as quick as possible   ,   with a promise to bring back baby melody safe   &   sound.

      a promise the lady fully intended to keep.

      but they had gotten distracted   ,   or well   ,   her husband had gotten distracted   &   the lady had let him.   she had been too emotionally   &   physically exhausted to argue.   she had let him lead her to the med bay   &   had let him run as many tests as he wanted to make sure she was okay.   she wasn’t.   how could anyone be okay after all that   ?   &   she was fine   ,   physically   ,   at least   ,   but she had clung to him anyway   ,   had let him pepper her with kisses    &   had let him pull her to her bed   &   hold her close until she fell into some sort of sleep.

      but that was yesterday.   &   today   ?   today   ,   she had to let that go.   compartmentalize   &   move on.   she had a promise to keep.   they had to find melody so amy could raise her daughter.

      raising a child   …   something the lady wasn’t sure she’d ever get to experience again.

    ❝   WE’RE GOING TO go look for melody today   ,   right   ?   we shouldn’t wait any longer.   ❞      she glanced over to him as she began to change out of her pajamas   &   into the clothes she had picked out.      ❝   I WAS THINKING we should start in d.c.   ,   yeah   ?   back at that warehouse   ?   ❞

( HE’S BARELY AWAKE, but he did notice her absence from the bed, to him he had BARELY been able to bring her to bed, && being completely honest he doesn’t know how long she’s been up )

( SEEING her he immediately noticed something wasn’t right? HOW MANY HOURS had passed? DID SHE EVEN REST PROPERLY? HE WORRIED, HE knew she wasn’t okay. )

( HE STANDS UP, her mannerisms and quick way of moving made him AWARE, shaking off his  tiredness, she needed a longer break, she needed to rest, she needed to STAY PUT. at least for now.)

( IT ISN’T THAT HIS BLOOD wasn’t boiling, but at one point he had nearly lost both his friend && HIS WIFE, she needed to calm down. he was concerned for the babybut he knew a worried lady wouldn’t be any good.  )

( HE WANTED TO SAVE MELODY, BUT HE COULDN’T BARE SEEING HIS PRIYA LIKE THIS. )
